Raising legal status via missions

I have barely begun the Rebel string, and I want to improve my relations in the confederation so it doesn't get too bad. For missions, I'm guessing only rush deliveries will raise my legal status, but if I get one from a confederation planet to a rebel planet, for example, who will like me better? The sender or the reciever? Right now I'm restricting myself to rush deliveries from confed planets to confed planets, but it would be easier if I could do others...

And I'm guessing the planet I deliver the emergency medical supplies to will be the one who likes me in those missions...

I'm not strong enough to take out pirates, and I can't nearly afford the fake IDs. Is there another way to raise my status?

As a side question, is there a way to create a pilot log in this game? It would really help me see the legal enhancements for missions.

The FAQ says to do missions for a planet or government. What is it talking about? It can't be major strings, because there aren't any for independant planets.

I know Urgent missions raise legal status in EV Nova.

For independant planets they must be talking about planetary defence missions or pirate hunting missions.

Trust me, your legal status won't budge if you do rush missions. You can always camp out in the Vulcan system and wait until theres a clipper or argosy and a confed ship, and when you confeds have nearly killed the pirate, you nip in and deal the final blow, thus raising your legal status.

I always fly around and pick off pirates, and kill ships from the opposite gov (as Zax said). It isn't that hard, really, since I think all adjacent system's legal statuses increase with the one you are in.

The missions for government must mean those 'Kill Confed Officer' and 'Locate Executive Transport' missions that are specifically for a certain government, but pay only about 30000 and can be triggered as many times as you wish.

Exactly. In Government Embassy for both Confeds and Rebels. Under the How To Be a Confederate/ Rebel heading it says: Do nice things for the Government.
