Skill potions question

How exactly does one get skill potions? Is there a place to buy them or do they have to be found? If the latter, where do you find them?

------------------

You can find them under rock piles or in holes in the ground. However this is rare.
I assume random monsters can also drop them, though this is rare. There is supposedly
some place that sells skill potions for mondo gold, but I haven't found the place yet.

Also certain quests will give you skill bonuses.

Good luck.

Shoot 'em with everything you've got. If anything still lives, shoot 'em again.

Sea giants drop them regularly. The problem is getting rid of the giant. 🙂

Ouch, no kidding.
The giants are tougher than the Guardian. If I'm caught with my shield down, that's the end in one blow. :frown:

You will need to complete the Witch Finger portion of the Tome of Elixirs quest. From the portal to the Witch Finger, take the cave entrance East, take the cave exit due South of your entry to the cavern. You will be at Kalixa's hut, she sells Elixirs of Dexterity, Luck, and Strength, plus other neat goodies. Most expensive Elixir is Dexterity, at 4500 gp.

Good Luck!

Thanks for all your help, guys. I actually found a way to get skill potions for free, early on in the game. (I have already gotten 2 potions of strength, 2 potions of dexterity, 3 potions of vitality, and a potion of perception and I am barely level 2 right now!) I love this game!

Please do tell. 😉

moe... Oh, why not just
kill all of them.

Okay, everybody, here's how you do it:

When you start off you will find those rock piles and pits that usually give you 1 or 2 piles of gold, sometimes healing things, once in a great while skill potions. When you find one, save your game. Then click on the rock pile or pit and see what you get. If it is not a skill potion, load your game and try again. Eventually it will be a skill potion. (I have yet to find one that didn't eventually give me a skill potion.) The longest I have had to do it is 15 minutes, but IT ALWAYS WORKS. Try it and see for yourselves. I love this game!

Well I tried it, it takes far too long just for one elixer, and it may not be one you even want, like perception. I'll stick to buying them. But this way works if you have plenty of time on your hands.

I tried that a couple times, too. I never got any, so congrats.

Does luck increase the amount of cash which monsters drop or the quality of items?

It does not increase the quality, just the chance of getting more droped items and cash.
