Since so many people have killed the Alien Cruiser including me, but I am wondering why not try disabling an Alien ship and capturing it. I have never tried boarding it so are you allowed to board the Alien Cruiser or does it say you cant board it?

You can't board it because you're not allowed to board a ship that has something to do with your mission.

Also because ships are disabled when their armor reaches 33% integrity. Since Alien ships have no armor at all, it's impossible to disable them.

Null point. You can capture the Dreadnought in EVO by aborting the mission and then attempting to disable and capture it.

what I would do is sorta cheat. Get res-edit and just add a bit of armour to the ship. I havn't done this so if its got a lot of crew bring it down to one. Then do mission and abort. Or you could just brink the tech level down.

If you're going to cheat, you might as well make it easy for yourself.

this is a cheat, but I guess it's a bit more fun to actually acheive disabling and capturing the ship. Then just bringing the tech level down or just poping in a plug making the alien ship avaliable anywhere for 1 credit.

Sorta? That is cheating just without codes or plugs. And wy edit the data, just put it in a plug.
Well I don't even know if there is a plug out there. Also doing it yourself would enable you to do your settings. For exampe you can capture the Alien how you want where as the plug you don't get that choice.

There's a plug that lets you but the Alien Fighter for 10 credits and the Alien Cruiser for 100.

It's simpler to just change the data, assuming you don't plan on wanting to revert it back at any point (in which case just duplicate it and save the dupe elsewhere first). You just open it up, go to the item to want to change, and change it. You don't have to create a new data file (plug-in) and then go through the creation of resources.
Editting is generally far easier than creation.
I admit I have flown a Defender before. I also admit that I did not fly it for long. (Go ahead and speculate...)
