Which is better, Confeds or Rebels?
After some thought and discussion, I have decided to post this popular and much used topic to see how many EV fanatics have survived, and whether there is hope for this dying(?) board. If we are fortunate, enough of us will state who we support and why, and the EV boards may live on...

I prefer the Rebels, mainly because they are the underdogs. However, I've never really given it much thought, certainly not nearly as much as some others 'round these parts.

My answer is of course: the Confederation.
Being the underdog is nice, but the Confederation rules the galaxy! There is nothing like flying in a Confederate Cruiser, blowing up evey puny Manta in sight. The mission string is more fun, and they ae just so much fun.
And they're evil!

Confed Crusiers > Rebel Cruisers > Confed Frigates < Rebel Destroyers > Confed Gunboats > Rebel Mantas > Confed Patrol Ships.

Hmm, that's confusing, because we can tell a Confed Cruiser is better than a Rebel Cruiser, but it leaves the case of the Rebel Destroyer hanging. There's no clear position for it; all we know is that it's greater than the Confed Frigate, but we don't know how much.
But considering I've been piloting a Rebel Destroyer a lot recently, I'd say I liked it most out of all of those, for speed reasons. And it was cheap too.

Well, I know that the Destroyer is worse than the Cruiser. That's all I need to know.
While I am ideologically closer to the Confederation, I find myself playing for the Rebels every time. I think it is because I prefer their ships; they're cheap, light, agile, yet still packing a significant punch.
