I'm playing E3 and have been given the task of finding and destroying the escape pod containing an escaped prisoner, but nothing can touch an escape pod, so how do you do it?
Thanks! -Ace

The escape pod is modified to be destroyable. This is capturing the escaped criminal, right?

Nope. I've been given the mission to destroy the escape pod containing Jason Richter. This guy apparently fixed his pod so it could hyperjump. I've fired torpedoes, missiles and used my primaries, all to no avail. Also, whenever I jump in, he jumps out soon after. I'm not sure how to complete the mission (as it is apparently completeable). ------------------ Okay, it's done! I did for the escape pod what I did for Cap'n Hector: I went into the E3 data and changed the shields to a negative number, so that he would explode as soon as he entered the system. Either that's what happened, or because of the modification, it allowed me to kill him with a missile. Either way, the mission was a success!

That's the one I was refering to, sorry I didn't make myself clear. Did you try boarding the pod?
Can't board it because it's moving, not disabled. Besides, the mission was to destroy it, not capture him.
I sent an e-mail to Tim Isles, the creator of the Empire "Trilogy." He should be getting back to me by e-mail or posting directly to this topic within the next few days.

Well, I guess what I did worked, since the string continued (got the next message, mission disappeared from info screen). So, I went ahead with the rest of the missions and now have completed the plug from the Weave/RusCon/LCA/aliens side. On my first run-through, I finished the plug working for the Scavengers. I don't know if it was something I did in the data file, or if I managed to hit it or something close by that did it, but afterward, I went back into the data file and deleted out the minus sign I put in front of the shield number so it wouldn't affect other pods.
