This also relates to my previous post about Area_51. I know the hyperlink joins Arcrania to Levo, but no matter what I do, I can't get the hyperlink, even with the h+ keys. I used EV Developer's Map to find the link, but in the game, I can't find it! Is there a secret I should know about? As for Area_51, you'd think that, given a mission to go to the secret base, they'd also give you directions, and therefore the link, wouldn't you?

The link may be a one-way jump; is it present in both systems, or only in one of them?

I'm not sure what you mean, David. According to the EVDM, there is a hyperlink between Arcrania and Levo, yet it's not there even when I accept a mission. I don't know if it's in either or both systems or if it's a one-way jump. I'd expect it to be both ways, otherwise the game would be mighty short, indeed. BTW: I loved your "Talon" plugin. I don't know if it's a bug or another plug interfering, but when given a mission to go to Talon Refinery, there were two systems with Talon Refinery-one in Appon (as should be), and one in Neptron. The Appon system was quiet (no unusual amount of pirates, confeds...), but the one in Neptron...I'll bet you could spend all day there and not kill all the pirates that are there (with more coming in)! I counted at least five pirate corvettes with craploads of rapiers and lightnings! Strange I didn't see any pirate Kestrels there. I get the feeling the one in Neptron may be the Pirate equivalent of Appon's. At one time, after blasting most of the pirate "armada," I noticed TR was red and was denied landing.

I don't know whether EV Developer's Map supports one-way links or not. Try opening up the plug-in in ResEdit, looking in the Levo system, and seeing whether there is a jump link to Arcrania. If there is a link to Levo in Arcrania, but not a link to Arcrania in Levo, that means that you can jump from Arcrania to Levo, but not from Levo to Arcrania.
Also, check whether Arcrania has anything in its 'VisBit' field; if it does, it may not be visible until you reach a certain point in the storyline.

There is no Neptron system in Talon. Do you have any other plug-ins installed?
Unfortunately, I just started to learn how to use ResEdit (today, as a matter of fact). So I don't know how to do what you asked. So far, in the game, I've gotten a mission from the bbs to take some people or some cargo to Arcrania. I see the system (non-highlighted) and with the red flag next to it, but no hyperlink. I checked out the visbits for both Levo and Arcrania and both were -1. Whether the link is one-way or not, I can't say as I haven't been there yet. As for the Neptron system in Talon, yes, I do have other plugins installed: Clean Record, EV Boom, EV AI Upgrade, EVula's 3D Targets, Hectorina, More EV Voices, Nova Brackets, Nova Warning, Storm Industries SR2, Super Torpedo, Surround Emulator. What do you think?

Well, I'm not familiar with all of those plug-ins, but Neptron must have come from one of them. Jeremy Condit's old EV Plug-in Auditor, which might still be in the add-ons archives, should be able to find out which one is the problem, since you can't use ResEdit to find it.

That did it! I d/l'ed EVPA and tested both "Arcrania" and "Area_51" separately, of course. As could be expected, there were quite a few conflicts, but the only one involving spobs or systems was "Levo Fix." Testing either plugin against "Levo Fix" resulted in the same conflicts. I'll let ya know what happens after I take out "Levo Fix." Thanks for the suggestion of EVPA!
Hey! Whadda ya know! It worked! I took out "Levo Fix" (and only put it in when I need something special) and guess what! I HAVE HYPERLINKS!! I just realized something. When I hit the Caps Lock key, my typing speed doubles. Amazing! I dunno if you've played "Area_51," but so far it seems like one long series of jumps. One thing I don't understand is why, seeing as how these Rebels (and Confeds, too) seem to be everywhere, no matter where I'm told to go on a mission (System Z, find the aliens...), the order is to return to Palshife. Ah, well. I appreciate the help, David. That suggestion to use EVPA was a "lifesaver." I found lots of conflicts, but, the only way to eliminate the conflicts is to run the game with no extra plugs. After that, you play the game once, you've played it out. Time to move on to...EVO!
Thanks again! -Ace

The customary way of dealing with this problem is to play only one plug-in at a time.
Yes, I know. But what I mean are plugs that have no missions and either 1)Gives you a weapon or some other outfit or 2)Changes something (like target picts, column colors...). I can understand only using one plug (if it "changes the universe"), but why plugs like 1) or 2) conflict with each other, I have no idea. Have you taken a gander at my other topic about "Killing the aliens in Area_51?" I'm stuck on that one. Can't move forward in the string, but can abort and retry the mission. Have tried that, same results.
If a plug-in that simply gives you a new weapon happens to use the same weapon resource ID as another plug-in you have installed, there will be a conflict. The plug-in "Levo Fix" is probably the cause of your Arcrania hyperlink problem; you were getting its "fixed" version of Levo rather than the version with the hyperlink to Arcrania. Unless two plug-ins were specifically designed to be compatible, it is quite likely that a conflict will arise, due to the limited resource range available.
I see what you mean. What I decided to do was to put in "Levo Fix," buy the upgrade(s), then remove "Levo Fix." As long as I had a plug like "Fireballs," the upgrade/weapon wouldn't simply disappear as soon as the plug was removed. Seemed to work. I got the SR2, the Fireballs, and the Heavy Fusion Beam, as well as kept the hyperlinks intact. I just wish someone would come up with some way to get beyond "The Wall." Apparently, "The Wall" has no effect on AI ships, only on HI (Human Intelligent) ships. I spent some time at "The Wall" firing at the alien ships (and not hitting any). Same thing usually happens when going after pirate/renegade ships, except sometimes (rarely), will I actually hit/destroy my target.
