Ugh... I hate the Neutron Blaster. But then again I really don't know how to use it well...I never did. It just seems like a waste of mass to me...

What would be the correct way, then?
------------------ You have to break some eggs in order to make an omlette.
My tactics with the Neutron Blaster: 1. Circle the enemy, go behind it, and fire. It is effective on large clumsy ships. 2. Do a "hit-and-run" with an afterburner. Neutrons can go at lightning speed! (You don't need an afterburner if you're fast.) 3. Neutron Blasters kinda act like backups to your primaries. A charging enemy will DIE!!

The only ship I really find the neutron blaster effective on is the Confederation cruiser, and even then once you get in range to use your neutrons, he can shred your ship with his nasty amount of proton turrets. I generally just avoid neutron blasters all together... waste of space. I could be holding forty torpedoes in place of a single blaster.

well, when some ships break off against the monty python maneuver, they always turn around. BIG MISTAKE. i just blast 'em while they've got their backs turned. and, yes, some ships do break off, like many of the argosies I've pirated. maybe you veterans already have a name for that maneuver, but i like it anyway.

The veterans still call it the monty python.
Any manuever that includes shooting at AI ships when they can't fire back due to a GLITCH is the same as the Monty Pithon.
I just discovered a CHEAT!! Well, I've never tried this before, but I will tell you anyway. It's just a theory.
You go to the shipyard. Buy a certain type of ship that has weapons. Let's say you buy a Rapier. Sell all the weapons and ammo, and buy a new Rapier. Keep doing this and you'll earn credits by the millions. Therefore, you're getting free credits.
Has Matt Burch taken this into consideration?
not exactly. every time that you get a new ship, you're paying for it. so basically if you buy a new rapier, you're paying another million+.

Only if the ship's trade-in value is nil.

true, but still you're losing money, not gaining by the millions. And Blood Eagle, I made the exact same mistake once, so we're all in this together.
Updates:
Weapons - 5 Proton Cannons, 3 Proton Turrets, 1 Missile Rack + 64 Missiles, 1 Torpedo Launcher + around 20-30 Torpedos, 2 Lightnings.
Ship Upgrades - RCS, Thrust, Engine, 5 Mass Expansions.
Escorts - 2 Lightnings (excluding fighters), 1 Corvette, 1 Confed Frigate (Don't ask me. )
Drop the protons, get laser cannons. It's all over the boards that the damage per second is greater with lots of cannons than with lots of protons. You could also get more torpedoes or even some heavy rockets, my fav
Blood Eagle: Get dual launchers for your missiles and torpedoes so they do a lot more damage to fast recharging ships.
