No, it should be one of the nicer-looking ships - an Argosy, or maybe a Frigate. Besides, the Kestrel is so dark it would barely show up.

It should have been a Corvette or Rebel Cruiser.
I take back my previous statement. I put a Hawk bay on my Corvette. When I get attacked by a Patrol Boat or Gun Boat the hawks usually win hands down. But I have my strategies.

You do realise that statement only strengthens the Hawk's position? I'm surprised it won at all - the Rapier is, after all, sometimes classified as a light capital ship. If it won twice, I'm impressed...

Of course I was aware of that, the smilie indicated how impressed I was (or so I thought). Oh, and I found out that six hawks can bring down a Confed Frigate (I used G.S for that, a hawk bay carries 6 haws in that plug)
Yea, bad icon... just like the Voinian Heavy fighter on EVO... it should be a more 'medium' fighter, like the Lightning, Arada and Starbridge (Oh yea, Nova got it right!).

The Manta and Lightning are my personal favorites... The Manta for its speed and agility, and the Lightning for its nasty punch. Very versatile as well.

I don't know...I always liked the idea of EVers flying around vainly in search of the "EV ship" they saw on the icon. That is, if they don't go to the outfitters.

Okay. I was bored and I'm particularly interested in this topic. Combine that with the simple problem of having WAY too much time on my hands and you get this:
EV Fighter Test Plugin (544k hqx file)

What is it you ask? It's simply a plugin that flings two AI-Controlled fighters into battle. It's structured so that you have quick and easy control over the ships that you would like to see battle. To keep the AI type the same, it's not based on missions, but rather systems and multiple interchangale plugs. Sounds complicated. It's not that bad. here's an excript from the readme:
Put the "EV Fighter Test" in the plugins folder. Pick one of the plugins from "Fighter Test Plugs" and put it in the plugins folder. Open EV. Play EV.
Just make sure you start a new pilot file or Captn. Hector'll mess you up hardcore.
Have fun and feel free to make up a tally and post it here. I'm seriously curious abot this.

heh. That's not at all what I meant. It was an almost-quote from of Dyna System's EV Object's formulas. I consider it a form of homage. It has nothing to do with registering the game, which I did long ago.
