I did a quick search on this but nothing turned up.
I've played EV for a while now, on my Quadra back when it still worked reasonably and then using the Executor emulator. Recently I got a dose of nostalgia and, remember my poor experience with Executor, installed the softmac emulator from emulators.com. I got the emulator up and running with (as far as I can tell) no errors.
However, once I installed EV, again without a hitch, and got into the game to play it something really weird happened. Starting on Levo, I can rotate my shuttlecraft, but when I push the thrust button, it thrusts me in the opposite direction. If I continue to hold down thrust, regardless of what direction my ship is facing, the game seems to push me towards the upper-left. Meanwhile, all the ships in the system are doing the same thing... floating quickly to the upper left. If I select a hyperspace destination and try to jump, the ship will turn so it faces backwards, but it doesn't slow down. In fact, it seems to get the game stuck in a script I can't esc out of... it's in the middle of the jump sequence, but it doesn't actually jump.
I don't think the keyboard has anything to do with it... it works fine on all the other emulated programs. Anyone encounter something like this? Any help would be useful. Thanks.
Don't know whats wrong, try checking the preferences or make sure to keep you pilot files and reinstall it.

When running an emulator, problems that aren't there in the real version tend to slip in. The only advice I can give you is to get a Mac, which isn't terribly helpful to your situation.

I fiddled around with various settings, but couldn't fix the problem. I went ahead and tried out Basilisk 2, and it now runs fine.
