While I was walking North from the Plains of Endless Wind to Berglum,
I came across this flashing circle with a big 'S' inside of it.

So, what are the "secret" things for? To mark some secret bonus thing?

It's the pathfinding skill, actually. These mark the paths you find. Awareness has a different, very cool effect...
