While i ponder my decision on buying a mac, i thought i would ask just a few more questions about EV?
Thanks.
------------------
Yes.
There are hundreds of plug-ins, which are expansions or remakes of the game available for free. There is a sequal out, and a threequal is in progress.
I'm sure you could find it if you looked around here.
Tons.

2) Are the mods or expansions? Or is there a sequel planned?
Both and neither. The "mods" you speak of are called plug-ins when talking about Escape Velocity. There are are a whole ****-load of 'em available here. Escape Velocity: Override is the sequel, but the first one is better. EV: Nova, however, looks much better.
3) Is there a FAQ available?
Yes...
4) Besides this game, are there any other mac games that are any good? I mean, games made specificly for the mac.
EV Nova? Where is the information on that? Is that out?

It's not out yet. Most of the information is, surprisingly, available on the EV Nova web board. I would suggest reading on that board for a while before posting any, as it can be a little rough on newbies, and has a rather no-nonsense attitude right now as Nova isn't out yet. Whatever you do, don't ask when it will be out or if you can be a beta tester. It's also too late for suggestions.

Well... not all of it...

Pardon me if I'm a bit out of date on that, as I haven't been watching it since it's all pretty repetitive right now. However, I'm under the impression that it still isn't that receptive to people coming and bombing it with traditional newbie questions, which is mostly what I was referring to.
Terwin, good luck on trying to survive on the ASW Web Boards. My advice:
Don't ask about karma, it's in the webboard guidelines. Don't go in Banter and Brawl for a while. Research your questions about NOVA thoroughly before just posting them.
And glad to see another person playing EV.

I think (hope) the NOVA Newbie's Guide has helped some, and the attitude towards newbies has generally been a bit (a bit ) friendlier over there recently.

Good idea.
Some other tips are: moki = andrew = Andrew Welch, el presidente de Ambroisa Software the (url="http://"http://www.ambrosiasw.com/webboard/Forum26/HTML/000098.html")#ev3(/url) chat room on IRC is NOT for discussing Nova. Fear for you safety if you go there and ask why no one is talking about Nova. We just don't. Positive karma is completely meaningless, don't sweat it. Judge people by their actions, not their karma. Read the FAQ's before posting a question about EV. Don't post message on the boards to one specific member: that's what e-mail is for. The e-mail button above members' posts gives you their e-mail, and the other buttons give other info. By clicking on "profile", you can make up a sig for yourself that will appear automatically every time you post, and modify your info.
That's about all I can think of right now. Welcome to the Macintosh gaming community, and to the Ambroisa webboards.

I don't know why you keep saying that. I would expect someone with such an obscenely high karma as you to be walking around saying 'Oh, karma. It's really important. People with high karma are revered as gods among men. Go on, on your knees.'
