As I posted in the "Anyone found any bugs?" thread, I have a Powermac 9600/233 with 176 megs of ram, running OS 8.6 with 100 megs allocated to POG which is running in full screen mode.
I had been having system freezes which would only come out by forcing a quit and rebooting when attempting to save the game.
Since my post I have been experimenting a bit. I upped my memory allocation to 120 megs, and that seemed to help a bit. If I explore for a long period of time though, the game starts to freeze again. However, if I wait long enough, the save dialogue has since always appeared. Granted, I waited for 7 minutes once(no kidding, I timed it). I then quit, rebooted, and my next save was drastically quicker.
So here is some hope for others: Up your memory even more(if you can), and when you hit save(btw, I've been doing keyboard saves instead of mouse-clicking the save button.. not sure if it matters either way) head to the bathroom, or grab yourself another drink, take a nap, whatever. After a while the game will save.
Best of luck.
