Mac, Ipvicus's fleet also has 2 heavy frigates in addition to the ships you specified.

Alright, because Asriel and KK aren't showing up, and certainly not on a regular basis, I'm taking control of the pirates. As of now I am the pirate leader. I also have dibbs on anyone who wants to join BFSIII.

Oh yeah, if KK doesn't show up by the end of the week, ZenMastaT can finish up the battle between him and KK, making sure that he takes appropriate damage from KK's fleet and the defense fleet of the planet.

Ok, sounds alright to me. There seems to have been a sudden absence in BFS III players... Makes things easier, though.

I got an e-mail from KK saying he'd be back sort of soon, now I say sort of because I'm not sure how BACK he'll be. He should be posting around here sometime soon though.

Vice Admiral Ipvicus: Just thought I'd point out something. If you're intending to head for Dreden, you most likely won't have adequate forces to capture it. Also, when you are in a situation such as your current one, taking fleets away from your center of defense is the worst idea. While think victory in your grasp, the Dreden will be killing your comrades since they didn't have enough ships to protect their remaining systems.
Personally, you're falling for my plan. I want as many Imperial fleets as far away from each other as possible. Split apart, you'll get nowhere. I prefer taking the enemy out one by one.
Thought I'd just provide some vital info if you wish to win this. Sticking together is one of the most important things in any kind of war.
Skyblade, about what you said, I never wanted nor intended to leave the capital defense fleet in Deus, I wanted the fleet where the capital is, basically, Sentarus Prime. Just clearing that up.
Mac: Dreden itself is under attack, which brings up a question: Can the defending player select a defense fleet for his capital? It just seems dumb for the enemy to pick the defense fleet of his enemy's most important system...
Mac: I beleive that if you read my posts you will notice that I was extremely fair in the choosing of the Dreden defense fleet and my tactics in takeing said system. Even if you give the Dreden the ability to control their fleet and choose it I dont see how it will change the outcome in any way besides making them feel a little better (but not much 'cause they will still lose ). Not only did we give the Dreden more ships than they would be able to get if they chose the fleet themselves (24 million credits worth) we gave them a fleet consisting of all ship classes and including all of their new tech and ships. Furthermore we followed the rules to the letter.
I would like to note that even if your fleet was correct, you should have left Skyblade posted a defensive reply to your assault. After all, if he did, you might have lost, or he might have moved the capitol to some other place.

He can't move the capital without a fleet in the capital's system. There you go.
Yes, but a defensive replie should have been allowed, regardless.

If you guys had left a commander to guard against this type of move you would have gotten it, since we followed the rules (I refer to the rules concerning one post battles in core/capital systems) you could easily have taken command after our first post had you had a fleet commander ready for this eventuality. I for one think that we shouldn't be pentalized for taking advatage of your lack of foresight.

I was going to leave Plute and Jimbob south to protect our southern flank, but then I decided a well-organzied Dreden defense fleet could halt an alien attack.
We're not talking about how this was all pulled off (personally, I think you've done a good job). All I'm saying is that the Dreden capital doesn't need to be blown off the map without a Dreden player posting for it. Does that make the slightest bit of sense?
You've followed rules, and we never said you didn't. My question needs to be answered, that's all. If the answer is "yes," well... The battle is going to be closer than you think, thanks to the latest Dreden technology and tactics (evil grin).
