I've certainly been considering independent expansion sets, but only after I've completed the Rebel and Confederation graphics. Also might do an Antinoda set, too. Not sure which to do first...

Well, I'm not planning to release it or anything, but I suppose I can just use the mask I created in Graphic Converter. I'll have to compare that to yours once the set is out, and see how different they are. I still think your system is way more complex than it needs to be...

Nah, I like my system that way it is. You get clean masks, and it doesn't take long at all (it's the sprites that often take the time). Masks usually look extrememly grainy, but that hasn't been a major problem (if any problem at all) creating them the way I do.
Well, the new ships are as nice as I would expect. I still like the blue colour scheme better than the red though.

Actually, I do too. Blue happens to be my favorite color. Too bad it represents the Confederation.

Whoa! VERY cool! Can I use the Rebel Destroyer and Rebel Missile Boat graphics in an upcoming plug of mine? Please??
Just in case you were wondering, the plugs name will be "EV Charon Enhancer" and will generally just modify and/or add a ton of new stuff, including a few missions. I would go much better if I had a better mission program for EV though.

man its looking better and better, really great stuff man. However might i ask, why does the Rebel Light Freighter have wings? Since you dont need wings for lift or direction in space, they could only be there for style. Something that makes sense for a fighter. (if your a big corp with a strong militant force, what better way to make your pilots rock then to make em feel good about their kick arse looking ships). But why would a light freighter have wings?.
Its unfortunate some of your very nice details will be lost in the sprites size.

True, true. You got a point there. Hmmm thinks If I made my own ev, I think it would be a great realism touch to make it so you couldnt land on a planet with a confederate cruiser, but you could with a courier, or ship that was "outfitted for subatmosphere travel". Or if you went to a pirate outcove, perhaps they wouldnt have outfitting possible for your ship class. Or perhaps thers a really wealthy pirate outcove thats snotty and assumes your ship class is unworthy to land there.
anyways before I digress too far in my huge EV list of things I think would be great.
Great job still on the planes. Just thought for visual application aspect that freighters are a little more bulky, and non-aethetic, as I would presume most traders don't care about their ship enough to make it look nice, perhaps neat and clean, as to allure people into thinking their ship is tip-top and 'the one for the job' but not flashy, as that might backfire, attracting pirates.

It was either in an EV story or plugin that I read about how capitol warships like cruisers and carriers, and very large freighters did not descend onto any planet. This - for the obvious reason - is that they would require way too much fuel coming and going and maybe all spaceports could not accomodate the behemoths. It would make more sense to have small shuttles (several, in the case of freight) to take passangers, parcels, etc between the orbitting ship and planet.

Are there any threads that exist for listing all your ideas for how you would improve EV?
I personally would like to see the game get more in-depth. Where you get more interaction and custimization out of your ship. More involving missions where there are more factors to deal with and more possibilities. These are very broad statements; Is there a topic where people go into this in detail? I have quite the collection of ideas.
If not, I would be glad to create my own, however, nobody wants to write all their great ideas over and over again for each suggestion post.

BTW Ares, do you have AIM/ICQ? I e-mailed Skyblade regarding offering help for a website (more then basic website), the Saber Studios website to be more exact. If so, would ya get ahold of me, to be honest I'm not sure whos busy , who's got 8000 e-mails a day, who's got 8 million hours or freetime or whatever. And it's something id love to get started on.
