According to what Macavenger said about the gate before, I think that Rak and Carn are now permanently trapped in the Sentarus Galaxy, unless they retreated as my post had them do.

How does one go about joining BFS? I've looked aroiund and dont see any info on the subject. Also where are the rules and such posted? I have picked up a little bit just readung the disscussion but other than that I have no idea. I can understand if my joining the game will cause some type of imbalance in the game, but I dont really need a fleet or anything, hell I can make do with a task force and tag along behind someone else. Another thing, is it possible just to start out as the govenor of some out of the way colony? or does one have to join one of the established govs?

Check out the link in the bottom of any of Macavenger's posts for the home page. It should say bfsIII home page. Look at the rules, shipyards, maps, etc...
To join, you have to join one of the 4 empire, alien, dreden, pirates, and human confeds... The only ones you could really join without inbalancing it even further is the Aliens, and possibly the pirates. It's all up to Mac. (I'm the emperor of the hapless aliens)

Carny, Rak, I know we are all for the same cause, but those two posts seem a little ridiculous to me. You wiped out his whole fleet in two posts, without even reading his post first, or so it seems. I would suggest that at least some of that is modified by Mac. Carny, do you honestly think that you can get behind a Carrier in another huge ship?

Hey - my post was perfectly legal. All I did was destroy a few heavily damaged ships with torpedoes and 6 destroyers/gunboats with significant losses. Also, if you notice, Carno inflicted heavy punishment upon the HC fleets as well as the Alien fleets. I feel that this is very fair.

Well, we'll give them about 24 hours, or until about 6 PST (you are West Coast IIRC, correct?) tomorrow. After that, I'm going to say we can just post again against the pirates, because this is getting truly ridiculous. We can't wait for them to post if it's going to hold up the story for weeks.
Keep your fleet together, at least for now.

Well, we could actually use you best as an Alien player to try to get rid of some imbalance, to be honest. The Aliens have been getting their faces pounded in. If you'd like to go ahead and join them as a fleet commander (I think that would be preferable as far as we're all concerned) Just go over to their shipyard, pick out 600 million credits worth of ships (no more than 200 million of any one type), and post your fleet here. We'll be able to figure out most of the rest.
Kyle - Since you're fleet has been basically wiped out (Though I am going to look those posts over more carefully sometime soon), shall we just go ahead and put you at the helm of the 59th, the multiple defectionist (ah well, it's a word now ) squad?

Not really.
First, making our fleets withdraw is technically illegal, and he acted as if the HC were expecting the Aliens to be no better than a few ragtag Pirates.
Second, the tactic I used is quite realistic. What do you THINK would happen when you have 50 space bombs, 75 torpedoes, and 100 missiles coming at you? And what do you think would happen when all of that stuff explodes in the midst of a fleet?
Third, look at the Alien Carrier, which is extremely power, extremely large, and the biggest ship the aliens have. Now compare that hulking warship to my Freedom Class Cruiser, which really isn't all that big at all, at least not compared to the Alien Carrier.

Carno, if the Freedom class crusier is that small compared to an alien ship, how could just one hitting the Carrier (especially a flagship) destroy the whole thing? You dug your own grave for that one :).
Well I have posted my fleet and am awaiting Kyle's orders to position it. As I am now part of the game I would like to say that the last battle between Rak, Carnotaur and Kyle was profoundly unfair. First of all I can't believe that any commander, when faced with a force more than twice as large as his, would just brazenly attack the very center of the formation (and since that was his favorate tactic why hasnt he done that in every other battle?). Second surely the combined fleets would have had a harder time killing Kyle's 2 carriers and 6 Battlecruisers (by the way it strikes me that the HC fleet only has 1 Carrier and 2 Battlecruisers) even if they outnumber his fleet in support ships. This whole battle need to be reworked, and with MUCH heavier losses for the HC if not a defeat. If you ask me the origional post where Jagar destroyed the jumpgate should be unvoided with the esception of the part with the HC retreating. If Carn and Rak want to be traped in the Alien Galaxy that should be their choice.

Macavenger, I don't see how it's fair that the Aliens fleets keep getting restocked. I think that that's about six by know. I'll go with it for challenges sake, but still. And if the Dredens take the Jumpgate System, can they build a new Jumpgate? After all, there is no way to get to the Milky Way now, we should be able to.

I'll wait until Mac and whoever else read over it to judge the battle. My main point is that the human fleets would not launch a full scale attack with 3 perfectly real alien fleets in the distance. That was the entire POINT of my post, to get the HC to go away so that we could stand a tiny bit of chance against 4 dreden fleets.
Jimbob, we are getting restocked, because I count myself and grunadulater as the only active commanders. I haven't seen anyone else, least of all rebel council nor jager.

Nope, because you fail to see my point. I'm not saying the Freedom is some little Stingray sneaking up behind an alien carrier, I'm just saying that it would be possible for my cruiser to sneak up behind an alien carrier. Why? Because a Freedom is a little smaller, AND the Carrier was being swarmed with fighters which kept it busy.
Not that it even matters, but I believe that no ship could ever sneak up on another in space, no matter how busy the other ship was. It's a 3-d environment remember.
Points for you to consider:
1. Mac said that one side of the jumpgate could be destroyed. Therefore, the HC would not be able to go back into their own galaxy.
2. My post indicated the very real presence of 3 large alien fleets the same size as what mine used to be. No commander would attack such a fleet in a "realistic" situation. Which was my point. (morale was low anyway)
3. After fighting large scale battles against both Jager and myself and myself again(?), you'd be at empty or very very low ammo.
4. Mac, why are the fighters and interceptors so damn expensive? A heavy fighters is more expensive than a human destroyer, yet is treated like it's an insignificant figure.

You fail to realize that Jager was under attack by 25 or 50 some fighters. Now I think THAT would distract him long enough for my ships to sneak up and attack.
