KK, do you want to start or just keep fighting over superships and players? I want to play this game, and the sooner the better. EV Nova is coming out soon.

Since cadet and I are teammates in III, I choose to take that as a compliment. Thank you.

Hey, who says that isn't soon?

Am I the only one who notices how "BFS III stable" we pirates are -- and how Mac keeps threatening to take one of us away? Hmm. Pirates equal renegades, equal "too independent," equal "hard to control," equal "only out for themselves" BUT WE ARE HANGING TOUGH WHILE YOU GOVERNMENT TYPES CANNOT KEEP YOUR TEAMS TOGETHER! You HC/Dreden/Aliens wish you had such a cohesive group. (Take that!)

No problem. Observe the following post by Lord Asriel (Sattomax at that time), which can be found about a fourth of the way down page 4 of BfS II.

THE ZIGRA SYSTEM IS NOW UNDER PIRATE CONTROL
Vaten's fleet entered the Gamera system, and dispatched one wing to clean up and get control of the system. They also had instructions to dominate the Canopus system, then return to Guiron.
The remaining ships went on to the Guiron system, which was similarly defended. There were a pair of Cruisers there, but that was it, excepting the defense fleet, which was Rapiers, Dragonflies, and a few Star Cobras mixed in. The Sabre and a SuperKestrel went after the Cruisers, while the rest took care of the assorted fighters.

Shut the **** up yourself. KK has been in since the beginning and has only pointed out the truth. Meanwhile, you come in late and want to start changing things around to suit yourself. Now shut up and join the aliens like you should so we can get the teams balanced and the game under way sooner.

Shut up yourself. I don't care how long KK has been in this. I didn't come in here "Late". I actually signed up ages ago when BFS III was first thought up. I only didn't post till now (busy with my own webstory).
Second, I don't want to "Change things to suit myself". I don't have to join the aliens! The HC is 1) the main government, and 2) they are forced to fight a 2 front war. Even with 5 fleets that is a hard thing to do. And maybe this would actually come out sooner if it wasn't for your whining.
Alright you two, settle down. I really should direct EVula to these last few posts. It's becoming a flame war.
Cadet: Carno has the right and will to join whatever race he wishes. You had that option, and so does every other member who joins this webstory. Just because you signed up with BFS III before Carno does not give you command over his options. Let him side with who he pleases.
Carno: I'm somewhat surprised to see your reaction to some of these posts, especially considering that Ambrosia members respect you as a moderator. With your position on these forums, I don't believe your last few posts have been the correct way to handle this. A soft answer always stops trouble, Proverbs had it right all along. I was expecting you to stop a flame war, not continue it...
Shake hands, you two.
Could both of you simmer down now? Thank you.
spl, is taking the Buster Cannon off that "station" to get the price to 100 million (as mentioned previously) Ok with you?

...Um. ... Er. ...Ehhh.
(KK weakly mutters something about getting beaten on a technicality.) Canopus, really no more than map coordinates, should hardly count as a "system"....

Actually, Asriel might want to re-adjust the stats on it to get rid of my insane influence. How about we just go back to the idea of outposts costing about 10 million and having a defense fleet? And no upgrading ships. Going back to the simplified rules would make things a lot simpler.
/me cuts of hands to avoid shaking them. Manages to prop up an artillery peice with feet. Wonders how the hell he is going to post with no hands.

Well, you'd better learn to shake without hands, since I'm tired of these useless arguements that get you nowhere.
I'm just reading for this webstory to begin. Heh.

Actually, it was four anyway, look more carefully. Canopus did count in BfS II, but I agree on the map coordinates. That's why we've reintroduced the uninhabited system this time.

Maybe it's just me, but I find each government having a fixed design to be simpler. As for the ship upgrades, I wouldn't worry about that. I don't think it'll become a major factor.
As for the station, I think I'll go ahead and post it with no Buster Cannon now, and you guys can change it later if you want. I may also go ahead and make up an Alien station, since I was Alien last time and know the tech quite well. Of course the Aliens could change it if they wanted, but it's nice to get something up. Skyblade, would you like to give me some idea for a Dreden outpost, or should I just guess?

Sorry about that. I loose my temper sometimes. And oftentimes I feel like no one ever does respect me as being a moderator. And if they do, they certainly don't act like it. Get's really depressing, and no one cares.
And what is this about Canopus not being a system? Of course it's a system. Why shouldn't it be a system?

No problem, I can relate. Moderating the Banter and Brawl is the hardest job you could ask for... That place doesn't want you to mess with anything they support..
I respect you as a mod. Just keep that in mind.

I too thought it was a system. Perhaps I'm getting the name confused with a similar one...

I think the idea is that since Canopus doesn't contain any planets, it's really just a star, not a star ~system~, although it is still technically a sΛst in Escape Velocity.

Basically. KK said it shouldn't count as a system for the captures in BfS II, but they did count then. It counts as uninhabited and can't be captured now since it doesn't have any planets.
