Battle for Sol III has started? Well, good luck everyone, and may Zarquon's good will go with you.

Yes, it has started (amazing, wouldn't you say? ;)). I only hope it ends better than BFS II...

How did bfsII end?

In a big argument after the Aliens got shafted at Levo. :frown: Ah well, all history now...
That's why I had to call the Battle for Levo "inconclusive" in the history at the beginning here. Skyblade called it a victory for the HC at the time, but if it had gone correctly, we Aliens should have won...
(No hard feelings... anymore, Skyblade. )
Couple other notes here: Taking another look at how big the maps are, I think I'm going to raise the capture limit to two systems per page, though still one per post. Also, no taking another system before an enemy has posted a move. The HC/Dreden people shouldn't be moving until another Pirate/Alien respectively has posted. Kyle's doesn't count, since he didn't actually move.
Now, Saint+'s fleet is temporarily under command of RC, since I recall hearing that he's out of town. As soon as he gets back, he takes command of his own fleet. Also, since Carno's gone for the next three days (thanks for telling us, Carno ), his fleet will be under General Rak's command until then.
(edit)Merm, Ok, couple more things: First, Skyblade and Jimbob, have you guys captured those two systems yet, or are you just fighting them still? Single post battles are allowed for capturing systems, except Core Worlds, especially when there's no enemy fleet in range to stop you. It's helpful to put something like ***** The Verdica system is now controlled by the Dreden Rebellion ***** at the end of a post where you've captured something, just so the rest of us know.
Also, again in the interest of speed, and since KK suggested it a while back, I think I'm just going to make all the Military Outposts one post builds, but naturally only if your fleet isn't tied up fighting, and probably only in uninhabited systems.
Also, Since I built the Dreden and Alien Outposts in the interest of time, those two governments should feel free to change their designs, at least until they use them.(/edit)

could someone please explain to me what this is? I have no idea what you are talking about but it sounds awesome.
------------------ Every time I went to a wedding, my aunts used to poke me and say "you're next!", but they stopped when I started doing it to them at funerals.
it's an RPG of sorts, using fleets in the EV universe, using EV physics and such. If you want some idea of what we're doing, read BfS II, (url="http://"http://www.AmbrosiaSW.com/webboard/Forum6/HTML/001670.html")here(/url). Not a plug yet, though I or someone else may try to adapt it at some point.
Alright, since I imagine spl_cadet isn't going to be happy when he sees my version of the battle, let me explain a few things in advance.
What happened here was basically a case of you underestimating my fighters and my tactics, spl. First, when your Ghosts make attacks on my bombers as you said, they get hammered by the Stingrays escorting them. HALOs are very effective against Ghosts, as they're fast enough to catch them and can damage more than one at once. When a group of Ghosts runs into a wall of HALOs, as yours did when they attacked my fighters, they go boom. Not much else to say.
As for the defense fleet, did you really think I was going to be stupid enough to ignore it when it packs that much firepower and has to come up from the planet's surface, giving me plenty of time to react? Your error there was also to give the defense fleet no anti fighter weapons, so it quickly got slaughtered by a large group of fighters I sent after it. You're dealing with my Stingrays and their splash damage again, so the Starscreamers all blow up quickly when the Stingrays fire into the center of their formation.
Also, I found the idea that you could save your Macross, except by retreating immediately, after the pounding that had been and was continuing to be administered to it particularly funny. Let's picture this: Ship at 50% armor, pounded by 3 Enterprise cruisers at close range, is going to survive for the several minutes it takes the Peregrines to come up and destroy them? Not bloody likely.
Yeesh, am I the only one posting here? I feel kinda bad, making so many consecutive posts to this topic. Anyway, I think the new Missile boats are probably 2.5 Million credit ships, so Asriel, you can only afford 37. Presumably, you'll take one away from each fleet, correct? I'll do that for now.
(edit) Map updated with the latest developments. I'm also starting to consider adding systems to the maps, though they won't show a whole lot except when battles are going on. For now, the Perseus system can be selected, but that's all other than the capitals and jumpgates.
I call for some sort of limitations to the trinity cannon.
From what I gather, the weapon has no more limitations, reload time or ammo count wise. That means one ship with them can lay waste to all my cpital ships in less than 10 shots. If that one ship happens to be the Battlecarrier, it can destroy my whole fleet by it's self.
I request that more drastic limitations are put on this weapon.

The reload time is very slow, I just don't really have a category for it. It's not something specific, like once per two posts like the Buster Cannon. I suppose we could limit it to a couple firings per post. The other limitation that you aren't seeing is that it kicks the cost of any ship it's put on up by a good 10 million, like the Buster Cannon. I might add a cannot be added to a flagship clause for you also, come to think of it.

Agreed. If we're going to use a deadly and expensive weapon such as the Trinity cannon, we're going to pay mega bucks for it. Hasn't the Rebel Battlecarrier come across as expensive?
Also, remember the modifications I made to the Libety several topics back... A third Trinity cannon was added, only turreted. This only works for my flagship, however, since no more than two of the cannons can be fitted to standard Battlecarriers. I remember you approving of this Mac, unless you want to say otherwise now.
Er, I did? Wait, I thought even the standard model was turreted. Well, either way it goes against the new restrictions, which I thought I put on it immediately, so we'd have to leave it at two.
And Skyblade, you don't have to wait for an Alien player to pick the defense fleets. If there aren't aany enemy fleets in the system, the attacker selects the defense fleet, being as fair as you can. In a pitched battle, Defender selects when to launch the fleet, and what it's made of. Fleets for a standar system such as the ones you're attacking should be 50 million, ballpark figure.
(edit) Or, you can use the ones RC just specified...
RC, Azdara Ace is supposed to have 3 Battlecruisers. Since that was only 10 million over the 200 million limit and the Titans are so expensive, I declared that a negligible violation and let it pass. (/edit)
Also, spl, I presume I get pictures for your new tech at some point?

Senester captured, so nevermind that.
Yeap, back when Carno was discussing the upgrading of flagships, you permitted additional modifications to commanding vessels. I placed a new single, turreted version of the Trinity cannons on the Liberty , and nothing else was said. Now I find out I can't use it? Darn...
Skyblade, how exactly is yuor ship upgraded? Can I upgrade my ship?
I like this, what's the procedure for joining?

Well you email this guy (url="http://"mailto:e-gamerguy1@home.com")mailto:e-gamerguy1@home.com(/url)e-gamerguy1@home.com
Jimbob you have to understand, those Heavy Cruisers had 150 Seeker Modules and 6 Launchers so they would of cauased you a lot more damage. Also they had 25 Detonator Canisters and 5 Launchers so most of you fighters ( the ones that attacked the ships) would be destroyed or in really bad shape. I sugest you revise your attack .

Let me put it this way. Do you really think that I wouldn't have a Combat Air Patrol out, searching for just that kind of thing? Also Ghosts, if you don't remember, have 800 speed or so and maxed out manueverability and accel. I don't think that they are going to be shot down by some measly HALO or idiotic fighter. As for the Macross, I had three things help save it: Tri-photon barrage, which tends to quickly eliminate enemy ships, HNRs, and St. Michael the Archangel And I just need to re-render the picture of the Deborah before I send it. Now then, I complain about the fact that it was pretty much a one post battle by your side, giving me absolutely no choice but to return to my tactics of smash the enemy though rules bar the way You gave me absolutely no choice about what to do. And that, my dear friend/foe, is not fair and although technically legal, really isn't.
