Hi. I can't get stuffIt to work, which really bites because I want to download EVula's Plug, C&B;, GS and Spacey's Plug, but stuffIt won't cooperate. I drag the files onto it, and it opens, but closes itself again. I've tried redownloading plugins, and re-installing stuffIt, but nothing works. My mac is an ancient 7.5.5 6500/250 Power Mac, and has a new memory card. Should I give it more ram? Maybe it's the fact that all I have on my mac is AOL? I know, this is a bit off-topic, but it has to do with plugs.

Is it a stuffit file? If yes, have you tried giving it more ram and opening the plug-in file from inside stuffit.

They're .BIN and .SIT
What version of Stuffit Expander are you using? For Mac OS 7.5.5, you should be using Expander 5.5. Could that be it?

Well I just tried GC. "dl-redirect.pl" downloaded, and the helper application launched (Stuffit Expander), and there it was. What happens when you download?
It sits on the desktop until I do anything. I checked, and I have version 4.0.1 of stuffIt

If you are ever having such problems with Aladdin Software applications, upgrade. It has always fixed my problems, especially when it comes to Stuffit.

it could also be a pc-mac version problem

If you're using IE, you may have to redownload the file. If you keep the partial file where it is, IE may continue where it left off. Often, double clicking a .sit file downloaded from IE will open Stuffit Expander and do nothing.
