I was wondering what they used to measure power (not speed) of the ships in EV. Like horsepower. But horsepower wouldn't work, as many ships would have 144,525,546,153,224+ horsepower. So, if there is, what is it, and if there isn't, what would it be?

If you're referring to engines, then max tn/s is the measure you're looking for. Max tons of thrust per second.

Doesn't that measure speed?
Max tons of thrust per second doesn't mean speed, more the power it can put down for acceleration. Horsepower is the same, you just take into account weight and you have acceleration (i think :))

Ok,I have now been enlightend! Thank you.

That, and the fact that the horses would be frozen solid when they get to space.
Dead, frozen, space horses don't have much horse power, or any other kind of power, for that matter. And no, it doesn't matter how many you have.
Just my helpful tip for the day.

Horses don't work?! You mean I spent thousands of years breeding 144,525,546,153,224+ horses to take my followers of doom and the death ray to another far off planet, and the horses can't fly in space? What is this? Now I must capture the princess and get her to tell me the secrets of space travel, but I can't, because I spent so much money on horses that all my followers of doom abandoned me!
Damn...

I think you should put the source of that, Jimbob, otherwise it's decidely disrespectful.
Otherwise, cool signature. Sure beats EVula's self-promoting one.

I do find it interesting that I've got that quote (url="http://"http://www.evula.com/quotes/religion.html")here.(/url) Just proving that I have the ability to find a reason to toss my URL -anywhere-.

Well, EVula, it seems all you have to do to find that quote is read HHGTTG. Which I did, of course.

Well, I haven't, so there.
And don't bother trying to convince me that I should read them; they ARE on my list, but I've got dozens of other books to read first.
Like what?

The books toward the top of the list are all about Hell (100 times more interesting to read about than Heaven), books in the middle are just general Christian-doubting, and the books toward the bottom are pro-Christian (I can't say that I'm being fair if I'm only reading one side of an arguement). Order is only relevant to the order added to the list, it has nothing to do with personal preference.
So, um, can we try to convince you to bump HHGTTG up on the list, since it is likely much more interesting than anything else on the list? I highly recommend the series, especially the first three.
(edit) I say HHGTTG should be required reading for high schoolers in America. Great books, and might be useful for developing some cultural links with our friends across the big pond. Who's with me? We can start a petition in the US Legislature... (/edit)

Perhaps might you be taking this strange fascination a bit to far? While I agree they are an incredibly entertaining read, and I won several copies of each as a result, perhaps we should spare the poor American minds from the vast amount of comedy... I'm afraid they wouldn't be able to handle it.
What does the measurement "Au/u" or somesuch represent? Accelration? Top Speed?
------------------ Apply When Wet
AU/h - Astronomical Units per hour
That would be top speed. It's also a bit ridiculous in EV, since light goes ~7.5 AU/h. Bulk Freighters go 10+ times the speed of light! Whodda thunk it?
So, not only do all ships go faster than the speed of light and thus theoretically travel backwards in time, but also , any shielding around the ship would block the ship from view anyway!
Ahh...the harsh realiity...
