I have some friends that can't afford a G3, but want one. They want to play Escape Velocity. And I know there's an emulator out there somewhere. Once, I found one, but I forgot to save the URL. It had a white background for the homepage. It was made specifically for EV, I think. It has the word Emulator in it, or something like it. I know it starts with and 'E.'Somone help me find it, please.

i am using something called the "Executor". for the msot part it runs fine. but you ahve to set the game speed to 50% as the emulator has some kind of problem with 1.5.0 or whatever the newest version is, and doubles the speed of the game. and putting it to 50% acts like normal and the 2x thing when you hit caps still works fine. the site is (url="http://"http://www.ardi.com/")http://www.ardi.com/(/url)
Well, I wouldn't get an Emulator anyway. Most of the time stuff like that Bugs your computer to death...

THAT'S THE ONE I HEARD OF! Besides the speed, does it work good?
When I ran Executor it was REALLY choppy. But this could have just been my computer. I'm not sure.
Try Basilisk. I've been using it for EV since my Mac fried (and it works really well). It's in a semi-recent post here somewhere.

Definitely try the site Insano linked. I think there's a fairly hefty registration fee attached to executor, and it isn't up to much. Basilisk runs EV:O really well, and EV far too fast. I have a 500mhz processor and 64mbram, I could probably fine tune the emulator but I haven't gotten around to it yet. Where's Warbeast when you need him?

Well, you could mess around with the amount of CPU allocated to different functions, but a far easier way is to go to the prefs for EV and adjust the game speed. Personally, I like the speed -- isn't it more fun when it's faster? (and it's really not that much faster; perhaps you're used to something a little slower)
