What order do you buy ships in? What I mean by this is, starting with the shuttle, what ships do you buy, and in what order? Here's mine:

I tend to have the Argosy for a long time - I arm it with rockets and proton turrets/cannons and sit near Evildrome preying on pirate corvettes and kestrels.

I'm not sure if this can be called a poll, because it would be hard to keep records of this, but...

Once in a shuttle, I make all my money running the Pollux-->Procyon route with a fleet of light freighters. I make a lot of money, and most of the time I go right from shuttle to kestrel. Corvette I skip most of the time, because it is an expensive step.
Next time I play, I will use the Rebel Destroyer, because people here seem to love it. I have never tried... I don't play through the stock game much. I spend a lot of time on plugins....

After that, I'll sometimes buy a Kestrel, a Confederation frigate or cruiser, a Rebel destroyer, or a Raven or Corvette Destroyer if I have the Talon plugin installed.

Corey - good list, just switch Cruiser to Destroyer and you've got it all figured out. ares - next time, also try using the Corvette long term rather than the Kestrel. It's better.

I also often use defenders, but this is what I normally do, I think.

I used to use a lot more ships, but now-a-days I pretty much follow this order. Sometimes I will take a government ship, but I make a lot of my choices based on looks, and the Kestrel is the best looking ship out there.

I find it takes a lot of fun out of the game if you just trade with a fleet of light freighters and go straight from a shuttle to a Kestrel/Corvette, so here goes:
