Okay, I'm up to locating the Rebel fleet...I accidentally canceled the mission. Where, or can I, find it again? The first time it was on Tabletop (Eridani).

Any Confed planet. It's not part of a larger mission string. The fleet's in the Adhara system, if you don't already know.

Thanks much. I have another question now. What are the requirements for the large Confed mission series? I'm Decent Individual in all Confed systems, and my CR is Noteworthy.
I wouldn't worry so much about your legal rating. You'll be up to at least Good Egg by the time you get to the important missions.
As for you're combat rating, you have to get it to at least Deadly for the Alien string, but I think Noteworthy will get you the Prototype sting. Just make sure you can disable a Rebel Cruiser.

This is what I did to make money in an Argosy... may not be the most efficient, but it's helluva fun!
Get that thing rigged to fight. Then go to systems where some Pirates hang out, but not so much that you can't handle them. Disable, board, get the credits and cargo, bail, and kill the suckers.
Get's you money rather quickly. I like the Corvette after that, not the Kestrel, but you can make that call.

This is exactly what I do, too.

Aye, I used the same pirate tactics and armed my Argosy enough so that it could take down a kestrel. Board a few of those, and the money starts flowing. Also, try the shipping companies.. they can generate cash quickly.
As far as the ship, with Confeds I think you would be better off getting into a Kestrel quickly. Dump the Lightnings and get some proton turrets.
Just my $.02 Iron Eagle

Thanks much, all!
Bleh, Argosies are fine, but next time, you should skip from Scoutship to Corvette. Combat-wise, the Argosy isn't a big enough improvement over the Scoutship to justify the money that could be saved up for your Corvette. You can outfit a Scoutship for combat and go after any pirates except Kestrels in them.
Also, with an Argosy, an alternate form of making money is to do a trade route. Pollux - Procyon (Food - Procyon; Lux. Goods - Pollux) is a good Core World Run that you can make a lot of money at, especially if you hire some Light Freighters to go with you.

If you need a quick million credits, just do the Diphidan mission string. You can buy a Rapier with it, and it can go a long way toward a Corvette.
As for fighting in the Argosy, it really doesn't make that great a warship, so I reccomend getting some escorts and finding a good trade route. Trading can be very profitable if you know what you're doing.

That doesn't work so well when you're working for the Confeds.

hey, there's nothing wrong with it. Sure, it's no 'vette, but with speed upgrades, bit more shields and armor, loaded with Missiles and maybe a couple of Mass Expansions, it'll hold up fine in a fight.

That string is guarunteed to piss the Confeds off. Which is the opposite of what he wants.

Yeah, but for that kind of cash, you could just as easily buy a Corvette. Or you could just spring for a Rapier. Both are far superior to an Argosy when it comes to combat.

That may be, but the Confed mission strings and the Diphida string are not mutually exclusive. You may make 'em mad, but by breaching some Rebel hulls you can quickly turn them on your side again.

That's true, but getting the Confeds to like you again is not easy.
Couldnt you just buy one of those Fake IDs in one of the pirate systems, then you wouldnt have to worry.

Yes, but those cost a lot of money , negating the entire darn thing.
I have purchased a corvette (after about two hours' toil) and received the Particle Beam. What do I do from there?
You need a deadly combat rating and at least Upstanding citizen (I think) to get the first Alien mission.
