Can I use MAGMA grapics for plug-ins? ๐Ÿ˜›

Skyblade- When you finish a confederation set, do an Atinoda or Maskirovka set. There are almost no good sets for them.

The MAGMA graphics are excellent, but my Confederation set will add many more ships than just the originals.

I've considered that as well. I might have to do another EVO set once I finish the Confederation one, but we'll see how that goes...

Thanks, appreciate it.

I'm actually rather surprised that the EVO community doesn't mind me halting work on the UE set and doing the Confederation one instead...

Yeah, its messed up for me in NS, too. I looked at the source; its probably all that funky code you've got just to have some rollovers (at least I think thats what some of that was...). My advice would be to strip it of that code and see how it works in NS then (ie: make it index1.html, or something like that).

It does load slow for me, too. I think a good thing to do to help those with slow connections (I have cable) would be to provide full text-based navigational links on every page; right now, you've got "go back to index" and "contact" links, but you should have links to every other section from each section.

Hmmmm... I didn't actually create those rollovers using straight java code, but did it visually using GoLive. Perhaps removing the rollovers would fix the problem with Netscape (and not only that, but decrease loading time...)?

Yes, it seems as though most of the members here with cable have had problems with loading the website swiftly. But strangely enough, several of the members over at the Override forum (SilverDragon and VoinianAmbassador are who I had in mind) said that they loaded the website between 3 to 8 seconds using 56k connections. That's much faster than I would have expected...

I'll try putting additional text links on the pages you mentioned. Thanks for the advice...

Bleh, EVula just wants all EV stuff hosted on his site. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Also, it doesn't surprise me that 56k people are getting it as fast as those of us with cable modems are. If f2s can only crank out data as fast as a 56k can take it, you won't get any advantage from having cable.

But then again, his (url="http://"http://www.EVula.com")site(/url) is the ultimate EV site and the best on the web! ๐Ÿ˜„ ๐Ÿ˜„ ๐Ÿ˜‰

GoLive? Bleh. Use BBEdit. ๐Ÿ™‚

Actually, I think you should strip out the rollovers for a test page; if the test page works in NS and the original doesn't, you know that you need to find a new rollover script (the one I use isn't 100% great, otherwise I'd offer it; I'm still looking for a simple and reliable one).

I wouldn't say that; I'd say that I want "a consolidated source for everything EV". Sounds much better than "Everyone bow down to me as their master", does it not? ๐Ÿ˜‰

Hey, I spent a lot of money on GoLive, so don't tell me to use something else. ๐Ÿ˜‰

What? GoLive costs the most of $250 USD. But anyway, get Dreamweaver ๐Ÿ˜›

Just remember that the money I payed for GoLive was hard-earned. It certainly seemed like a lot to me. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I cannot stand Dreamweaver. I have a friend down the street who uses it, and the layout is sick. I've grown up with Adobe products, so I find all the layouts (from Photoshop to GoLive) to be extrememly user-friendly.

So then what is Cinema 4D, a** bustingly earned ๐Ÿ˜›

Why not? I use almost all adobe products, but I find dreamweaver clearly superior to GoLive. Just my opinion, though!

As for Dreamweaver being better than GoLive, that is definately your opinion. All the major web designers I know say they find GoLive the more powerful program...

That sounds like your fault, not mine. ๐Ÿ˜‰

But seriously, though, if you're going to use WYSIWYG, you really should have a source-only editor to clean up everything. BBEdit excells at that, and you can get BBEdit Lite for free. (funny thing is, Lite is at 4.6, and my full version is 4.5; It is an awesome program, and I've yet to see a reason to upgrade).

I do agree with your comment on Dreamweaver; I had to use it for a job one time, and it ended up being so ass-backwards that I went RUNNING to BBEdit (the client had said that the tables would be too complicated for me in BBEdit; I could have fixed the problem easier if the original template (it wasn't mine) hadn't been done in WYSIWYG).

Yeap, buying GoLive is certainly my fault, and I meant for it to be. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I'll have to check out BBEdit sometime. Sounds pretty good. The only other web application I really like and find easy to use is Visual Page (excellent program, and also free).

Glad to see someone else agrees about Dreamweaver's problems. I went to GoLive immediately after I first set eyes on it. ๐Ÿ˜‰

That's weird, I only hit the "submit" button once (but it took forever for the webpage to except it). Perhaps it's because your page was made in BBEdit? ๐Ÿ˜› ๐Ÿ˜‰

Definetly. You have tons more power over your website in BBEdit than you do in WYSIWYG, as you can edit anything. It also has tons of tools for you to use in conjunction with your coding, as well as syntax coloring (makes looking at source easier, as you can tell what is a link, what is code, what is an image, and what is plain text). It also has a cool Entities palette, allowing you to not have to remember every mutli-lingual character (รฏ or รฉ or รฒ, even though I did do those from memory), as well as other misc characters. Plus, its รผber-powerful Find & Replace feature has made the numerous minor redesigns of the Lair a LOT easier on me, and in the end, isn't that what its all about? ๐Ÿ˜‰

You can get BBEdit from here. (info on Lite) Like they say: "It doesn't suck. ยฎ" So true.

More like because my server is worth less than, well, I won't say what. Suffice to say that it is worthless. When I move the (url="http://"http://www.evula.com/")Lair(/url) to the same host that (url="http://"http://www.evula.net/")evula.net(/url) is on, then it probably won't have that problem; add to that the fact that I'll be able to add SSI to all my pages without having to rename the ".shtml"; that will be a good day, indeed.

Sorry I got off onto a rant about how I'm going to be fixing (url="http://"http://www.evula.com/")my site.(/url) Its just so natural for me. ๐Ÿ˜‰
