In the threads dealing with "How did you get to EV?" I keep seeing references to "Maelstrom" getting some people hooked first. Where do I learn about this game? Thanks.

Maelstrom is great... Loads of fun... for 58 seconds ;). Nah, it's a good game. It's a lot like EV, so a lot of people who like games like Maelstrom also end up like EV.

Maelstrom was one of the first games I ever played. Seems so long ago...
Anyhow, I happened to drop by the Ambrosia boards years later to get some tips on Maelstrom, and I discovered this cool-sounding game called "Escape Velocity." Boy, did sci-fi gaming suddenly have a new meaning...

Oh, really. I never saw that game in their list of games. I think barrack is a cool game, gets boring after a while, but cool.
