I was wondering, does anyone name themselves anything different than the default names (Rick Hardslab, Stud Beefpile, etc.) and what they named themselves if so, also what plugins they most commonly use. Oh, and in each of the pilot games, what ship you currently have.

My pilot name is always Captain Skyblade, while my ship name is usually the Triton Corsair (in any plugin).
As for the default names, I never use them... They're a bit too corny. So to make them yet cornier, I usually change them to things like "Bacan Bits" or "Smashed Potatoes" with ResEdit.
As for my current ship, I'm using the Galactic Scourge plugin and fly a Rebel Sentinel.

How can you possibly understand the GS storyline? Sure, the ships are awesome (the Sentinel is definitely one of the better ones) but there are at least ten different stories (as far as I can tell) and I don't get them.
Anyway, for my name, I use whatever pops into my head at that moment. My ship is either named the Star Parrot or the Quantum Fireball. Oh, I'm using Empire of Crime. My three pilots are flying a Denebian Destroyer, Strike Cruiser, and Battle Dragon. That would be the Merc Guild, Mafia, and Triad pilots, respectively.

I either use Insano or Cerem Ferix. I was just trying to think up some futuristic names and Cerem Ferix popped up. The sad thing is that took me a couple of days to do. I'm switch off between final battle and empire of crime. In final battle I'm using the Rebel Cruiser, and in EOC I'm using the picketship.

Well, I always pull anynames out of my...uh... "hat" and right now, my pilot for regular EV is Anton EBrouchee, flying a Rebel Cruiser named the R.S.S. Somethingorother. (Havent played EV in a bit)

I often either use my own name Jack, or Celtic-like ones such as Kael and Liam. In regualar EV, I often use a Kestrel, then I upgrade to a rebel destroyer. Names included Dreden (thanks to the plug of the same name), Aeris, or such.
As for plugs, that is hard to say.
In Pale, my ship of choice is a Guard Kestrel armed to the teeth.
In EOC: A picketship thoroughly upgraded. In the Merc storyline, I often get a Dragon Crusier or a Missile Crusier.
E2: Dark Horizons: A upgraded blockade runner, and after a time Weave Light Crusier, then Support Carrier.
EVGE; I often as not chose a Puma destroyer.

I'm playing the GS plug too. I was getting bored with the same old universe and just went for one of the biggest plugins I could find. Actually, the universe is the same, but the govt's have changed a lot, plus there's the whole add-on past the Jumpgates.
Thanx to everyone who posted so far - I may make a plugin someday that includes a few of these as përs (I know it's not an original idea).
PS: does anyone know if there's a later version of EV-Edit than 2.3? It nearly destroyed my Mac the last time I used it.
Right now I'm playing GS, in my Rebel Destroyer. I never name my pilots the default designations. Right now my pilot name is Dr. Brighton Ghaster.

I use "dash riprock." I know its a corny default names, but back in the day of the WWWBoard this guy wrote the first EV serial novel and used the character Dash Riprock. So the name kinda stuck with me...
As for my ship, I have a Rebel Cruiser that can outrun the flea interceptors. Yeah, I hacked some to make it that way... I have infinite fuel and about 3 engine, rcs, and acceleration upgrades, but It's justified because the feds get those damn Neutron Turrets! With those things they can blow away anything with ease, so I needed to level the playing field. If you haven't gussed, im playing GS.
My ship name I change with every ship. It's never anything real clever.

Ok, I'm going to look for the upgrade even if it kills me. I had a brainwave for a plugin last night that I can make within an hour using ResEdit, and even less with Ev-Edit.
When I play for the Pirates in plug-ins, my ship is always the Swamp Witch and is usually a scoutship.
When I play for the 'feds, plugs or not, my pilot is always "Benedict Arnold" and his ship is the Benedict II.
Right now I am playing Final Battle 2.0 and using a Lightning F/B called... eh... I forget. (Edited: It's the Black Plague. ) The pilot is "Final Rebel." Yes, I know, it's corny.

But I do have 2 mass drivers and 1 proton turret.. .but they are useless against neutron turrets. There is no comparrison between neutron turrts and mass drivers... lemme get into Res and get some numbers....
Ok, neutron turret does 30 sheild damage while the mass driver turret does 10. Also the neutrons are faster moving than the mass turret...
The mass turret does 30 damage to armor and the neutrons do 10, but sheild damage really is the important thing. If you cant wear down his sheilds, being able to destroy is armor is pointless.

I have my own strategies... and when going up against fighters, the monty python is one of my favourites. The reason I rigged my cruiser to be so agile and fast is so that I can do those strategies against ships much faster than I.
