when I play EV on my Mac I often get an error with the number 11 and I have to re-start the Mac... THis is anoying and I were wondering if anyone have had the similar problem and know how to fix it

You mean when you quit? Because almost every time I quit the game I get an error ('unexpectedly quit' :rolleyes :), and occasionally the computer freezes when I quit. Do you think we might have the same problem?

You know you want it. It's (url="http://"http://www.cheese.com")cheese(/url).
If you can't afford a sandwich you can't afford explosives.

I usually get the error 11 when I leave a planet....

You should probably post this on the Help on the Way board. David Dunham, who is tech support at Ambrosia watches that one. One other thing you should add is specs on your system, processor, which OS, RAM, etc. It'll be much easier to troubleshoot with that information.

I also get the "Unexpectedly quit, error type 2" when quitting EV, and since it doesn't hurt anything and I've already told the game to quit anyway, I find it hilarious. At least, I did the first couple times. 🙂

Well, at least it isn't just my little machine this seems to happen to: either error 11 or error 2.
(always when quitting EV though, never while playing)

It's never bothered me that much, just a bit of a hassle sometimes if I want to do something else and have to reboot before continuing, but now that someone brought the subject up....

Very interesting. I have never had an error message during the six years I've played Escape Velocity... The problem probably lies in a bad extension (or maybe one that needs to be turned on).

I used to get that error on my old mac. It's a memory issue. Just raise the EV memory in the info window and everything should be fine.

Error 11 might be, but I will bet any amount of money you want taht error type 2 is not a memory issue in EVs case. I have EV turned up to 40 megs, and get that occasionally when quitting. I've also never had to restart after doing so, it's rather odd.

Funny. I first played Escape Velocity on my Mac IIci, and still never received the error messages. In fact, the game seemed to run quite smoothly with no problems...

I never had any problem with EV unless I was using a plug-in. I have no idea what error 2 is, but 11 is memory.

I haven't had any specific error messages from my lcii when running EV, but sometimes it crashes when I try and board another ship.

If you can keep your head whilst those around you are losing theirs, then you probably haven't understood the seriousness of the situation.
