BFS II is giving me both great respect -- and dread -- for ASW's efforts with EVN. Skyblade is aging at three times the normal rate trying to keep up with map changes alone. And that's with less than a dozen players of BFS II. "If" EVN ever happens (that "if" is the dread I mentioned earlier) any players -- and especially ASW -- will need Cray IIs to keep it running smoothly(!).
(I know a guy who worked at Control Data Corp in the early 80s. He said they had an interactive version of Star Trek that could accept many players simultaneously and that it ran really slowly on CDC's "little" super-computer, the Cyber 176. It ran best on the same super-computer Knolls Attomic Power Lab used ... the Cyber 205(!). (The 205 was mostly designed by Seymour Cray -- befor he started his own company.) Just a little cyber trivia for you people....)
Hang in there, Skyblade. You will survive ... I think.

Message for Grunadulator and Sattomax: Where did your names come from? They are both really different.
And welcome Spl_Cadet to the pirate cadre. (He's over by Atropos right now.) Spl_Cadet, I'm glad you've joined us!
I'll try. Just remember I start some nasty high-schooling next week, so time won't be something that comes by easilly. I'll try to keep the graphics updated, but it's extra hard when you have to send everything to Mac first.

Awesome. More pirates. My name came from the book The Amber Spyglass, by Philip Pullman. Its in the His Dark Materials trilogy, which starts with The Golden Compass.
------------------ Apparently, my X-Rapiers are kicking HC warship @$$ right about now.
We need more Human Confederation players.
Skyblade, you have four commanders under you, with super-powerful ships. Grunadulater has three commanders under him, with mediocre ships. Macavenger has three (?) commanders under him, with super-powerful ships. You don't need any more players.

Hmmm...I guess maybe you didn't see the winky face by my post up there?
Alright you all, I'm going to have to give up on updating the map. It takes forever, and I'm doing graphics for numerous people (I've even got people wanting me to build entire graphic sets for governments for their plugins). I don't have the time, but maybe if Mac wants to build a map of his own and update it, I'll be fine with that. I really want to keep the map updated, but time it something that's very important you know.
OK, whoa. HALT, everyone, especially the HC. Skyblade, as I and Sattomax have noted, you broke your own rule about building ships. It's every third page, so you won't get new ones until page 4. You need to do something about this now. To make stuff worse, Rak has posted with the new ships you prematurely seny, and he can't edit. We have to figure out something to do about his before continuing the story. Also, you need to figure something out on the ship prices. Right now, they are very heavily in favor of the HC. Take my previous thoughts and Sattomax's ideas into account as you revise them. I know you're busy, but you can't be breaking your own rules and then be too busy to do something about it later. Something needs to be done about this, and now.

Wait a minute...You're the one who missunderstood me. Ships can be designed on every topic page, but ships can only be built every three topic pages. So in other words, you can have three brand-new ships before the next ship-buying round comes by.
There is a difference between designing and buying ships, ya know.
No, you're buying ships on page 3, which you shouldn't be able to do until page 4. And you need to rework your prices. If you want, I can do that for you, since you're busy. I could probably edit the images.

You must be refering to two totally different subjects, as you've got me totally confused. :frown:
Anyhow, I did just realize that I bought my ships a turn early (stupid me. You can tell I can't think with all the stuff I have going on :)). So all governments go ahead and buy your ships on page three, and we'll make sure not to purchase them again till page six.
I'll change the prices when I get the chance.
Sattomax, to avoid confusion (mine) I am changing the name of the 'Vette for one of my wing commanders. Coincidentally your new ship is called a Sabre ... and that's what my commander Vic named his 'Vette. (We even spelled it the same. "Great minds think alike," huh?) Vic's 'Vette is now the Star Dog.
No big deal, but like I said, I'm probably the only one who would have gotten confused by this.

This is exactly what I was referring to. I guess I'm off to buy some, but first, I'll need to post my new ship and it's newweapon.

Alrighty. Sorry this all got so confusing...That map has been a curse.
how about you fill out the map.please, i need to run away.

What? You scared of my puny little warfleet?
your 300 ships isnt really that puny.

I was being sarcastic
Just so you guys know, I'm planning on taking over the map in some form. I'm waiting for Skyblade to send me some stuff, hopefully, it will look substantially the same as it always has when I'm doing it. Sadly, I can't update it so that grunadulater can run away yet. Although, grunadulater, I don't see much problem with you running into uncharted territory, I'll figure it out on the map soon enough. There's also not much to stop Rak from following you though...
