Seems you are still missing the point, Mac. Our Carriers might sound like a deadly vessel, but if our carriers are attacked with numerous alien warships armed with particle and needle beams, they will be gone for good. The weapons are what make your ships powerful, and the carrier's current price seems very much logical.

Mac made a good decision here. Your new ship is way too powerful for size, much less its class. Please keep in mind the realism is the key here, not "who can make the most rediculous vessel."
I suggest re-doing those stats.

It's the armament and price of your couger that's the problem, cadet. Such a vessel would be classified as a medium to large warship with those kind of weapons, and the price is heavilly under-estimated. As I said before, redo those stats as all costs.

Hey Max, you've got some wonderful ship ideas, but your cramming too much into too little! Try slowing down a good bit, think logically of a vessel that's powerful yet not rediculous, and price them logically.

I disagree. I ran some numbers through my head, and 3 Alien Battlecruisers would be duly slaughtered by that thing in a straight up fight. The Carrier could down all of them in a couple of minutes at most. About a minute to fire the torpedoes, and less than that again for the Torpedoes to hit.

Perhaps I forgot to mention the incredible shield recharge rate of alien vessels? Three of your battlecruisers against a carrier would be a total toss-up, but if an HC carrier was fighting two or more Alien carriers, the HC carrier would really get battered, or likely destroyed.
Oh, now you tell us that we have incredible shield recharge. I'm going to have to go back through and edit all of our battles, to reflect fewer losses do to shield recharge. Start the whole game over, gang. I stiull don't think it would be a tossup, your Carrier has so damn many torpedoes it could still take at least 2 fom a distance, and would outgun the remaining one at short range.
And 2 Alien Carriers probably would beat on one of yours, but that's why 2 of mine cost more.

Alright, maybe the amazing numbers of torpedoes carried by one hundred turreted torpedo launchers is quite a whallop, but hey, we hardly have any carriers is service with the Human Confederation Navy. Both sides have their strong points and weak points, and the HC happens to have the biggest capital vessel with immense firepower.
I'll reduce the stats rather than drop the two-headed part. However, the Alien Destroyer is far more powerful and more heavily armed than this ship, and not to much more expensive. If you don't mind, please explain why that ship's pricing is "logical" while mine is not.

Well, huge capital ships with overwhelming firepower also have overwhelming cost. Aren't you the one who figured this would take a couple of years to build with ordinary effort?

Well, perhaps I'm jumping to conclusions, but a ship with a weapon called a Homing Nuclear Rocket sounds like it packs a lot of firepower. :rolleyes: Also, there's this new "Two-headed" thing, you're going to pay for that. Again, I can't give you a final price until you give me damage ratings on that HNR.

Well, the computing power and advanced sensors required to operate such a "double edged sword" are very expensive. At least 5 million + the cost of the regular computers. Price again
