Amy - As far as what ship I would suggest, that depends a lot on what you're doing and your style. Also, are you refering to standard EV ships or ones from plugs that we'd suggest?

Try final battle first, it is very simple but good. Also try Pale and Galactic Scourge.

So what's new around here. I lay off EV some time after the release of Pale. I think the Frozen Heart might've been the last plug I downloaded. Any new fun stuff been comin' around since?

TC = Total Conversion (A plug that total redifines the galaxy and weapons)
Try Empire of Crime and the Empire series. I am currently playing E2, and it is my favorite plug-in yet.

mugabi and destiny. best plug i've seen in a long, long time. i haven't tried frozen heart for ev, but it's probably more stable there (the qt movies kept crashing evo for me), and it's quite good once you get into it. ships, as was stated, depend on your fighting style. i tend to like speed and maneuverability, so i go with a corvette until i can get a rebel cruiser, but others swear by firepower and go the way of the kestrel and the feds; it all depends on you (well, in m&d; it's kinda preordained, but it usually depends on you) --------------- porquoipas?allonsaulit

Required playing: Pale (with zzzPaleVisageFix), Mugabi
Very good: Galactic Scourge, Empire, Final Battle, Eye of Orion, Clavius and Beyond
The above are all about 1-8 MB each.
Less than one MB but good: Epic missions
Just go to the addons page, get it to display plugins in alphabetical order, and scan the descriptions for things that interest you.

I strongly reccomend New Horizons. Tho I think it's a bit more than 10 MB. Also try EVGE. The best plug that isn't a complete TC. It just adds a crapload of stuff.

Pale and Galactic Scourge impressed me the most (in terms of EV plugins). Pale has the awesome graphics, while Scourge has the amazing missions. I personally prefer GS...

I completely agree. Anyway, Quantumire Trilogy has the best EV graphics I have ever seen, and good missions, too. The Empire "quadrilogy" or whatever it is now also is extremely well designed, with my favorite being Empire 3: Endgame.

If you go to the (url="http://"http://www.ambrosiasw.com/games/ev/addons.html")EV addons page(/url) and look on the right side, there is a small section that has the most downloaded plugins, and the highest rated plugins. Basically, those plugins are the favorites of EV players.
