Has anybody every, on the side of the rebels, captured 3 or 4 of the huge Confed freighters? They give 500 cargo space each, which makes money making easy. I once got 100,000 profit on a simple food run, when I had 3 of them.
Does anybody else have a strange technique that they use? Any technique at all?

Many people who have played EV and EVO have perhaps at one time or another, caught frieghters. The problem with that however is that there are so many weak freighters that its hard to keep them alive. Bulk friegthers are slow, very clumsy at manuverability, and I hate to point out, but a few missiles or even a torp or two could disable and destroy freighters. Alhtough perhaps way less cargo, my suggestion is that you capture Argosies instead.
Whitehawk

I know of the best money making tactic. If you are a rebel, it works great.
1- Go to Capella 2- Dominate Capella 3- Capture 6 bulk freighters 4- Tell them to cease action 5- Disable and raid confed Luxury Liners and Freighters 6- DO NOT destroy them, take everything and then let the SD system destroy them without creditting you with a kill. 7- Repeat until you've filled up your cargo capacity 8- Land, sell all the goods, and restock your weapons 9- Reapeat steps 4-8 until you get the desired amount of money.
Very lucrative and easy!
I find that I like to capture Argosies, too, not unlike Whitehawk. It gets me a reasonable amount of cargo, as well as giving me a bit more defensiveness (not that I need any in my Rebel Cruiser with two Kestrel and on Confed Frigate escort ;)).

I often prefer to capture Argosies because although Bulk Freighters have a ton of space, I tend to lose them quickly to accidental weapon strikes by pirate Lightnings and Rapiers that follow me after I capture them.

Gunboats work great. They're really easy to capture, and they disable with a single rocket.

So if your escort gunboat gets hit with a single rocket, that's good? And the point of this is topic is having much cargo... I don't quite think that a gunboard carries much cargo, do you?
No, the point is that you can sneak up, and take them out with a rocket before they're even hostile. Makes them easier to capture than other fighters, and a 6 gunboat fleet is menacing.

No, the point is there are no truely well armed cargo haulers...
The Kestrel can hold 80 tons of cargo, and could probably be considered 'well armed'.

The Kestrel is well armed but a mere 80 tons doesn't make it a real cargo hauler. Even the light freighter's 150 isn't enough for 'serious' trading. What we need is a nastier version of the much maligned bulk freighter. Surely some rich merchant would've attempted to find a shipyard willing to build a better ship for carrying large cargo shipments....
And if that doesn't float your chihuahua shaped bath toy, try a mix of 4 Bulks & 2 Kes as your trade convoy...
man, i go for argosy's and corvettes. the corvettes will fight anything that attacks you, covering the argosys that fly with you.

If that works for you, good! Use it and enjoy it. But I find it severely limits cargo space. Or, maybe I'm just too greedy!
I used to always capture Bulk Freighters...Earning money is suddenly not a problem.

Forget cargo for money! I used a simple heavily upgraded Kestral (No cheats! C'mon, who do you think i am? ) and dominated the whole galaxy! Ming you, I did have 2 confed cruisers and a rebel carrier...
All you have to do is get (or make ) A plug in that makes a well armoured transport that you can capture easily like Shield=max Armour=max weapons=none cargo=about 400 tons Turn=good acceleration=fair crew=1 See easy to capture yet good to keep. But on a different note TRADING IS STUPID!!!!!! If you raid ships for their weapons you can sell for heaps and who needs money when you have about a 3 dozen planets under you control.
I don't know if this'll work without the Pale plug-in, but my quickest way to make real easy cash was trading medical supplies between Yemuro (low) and Spica (high and higher). With a lot of cargo space, that's a lot of profit.
I've heard about a lot of trade routes, but there aren't any trading guides, so I can't keep track of them. Could someone make (or direct me to) a guide for EV trading, and not for EVO? (I've seen plenty of those.)
------------------ Yeah, you heard me.
If you want to trade, I'd go with the Zaxted/Diphida trade route. Low cost(or lower cost) equipment at Zaxted sold at medium prices on Diphida, and cheap industrial goods on Diphida sold at high(or higher) prices on Zaxted Starport. Using this trade route with Argosys or light freighters(or bulk freighters if you got 'em) can pull in hundreds of thousands of credits a run. Since your always carrying cargo, you don't feel like your wasting hired escorts if you have any. And best of all it's only one jump each way.
It's so easy I consider it cheating. I prefer to fight for my millions. But if you want to get into a crovette or something really quick, just trade until you get it.
If you play Confed, or if you do this before actively siding with the rebellion, this can make money pretty fast.
Buy Lux. Goods at Plateau Go to New Japan Sell Lux. Goods; buy Food Return to Plateau Sell Food; buy Lux. Goods Repeat ad infintium
Lux. Goods ae low at Plateau, high at almost everywhere around it. New Japan works best because you can bring food back for a small profit, usually enough to cover fuel and stuff. Since it's in the Core Worlds and only one jump, it's simple and safe, and still makes pretty good money off those luxury goods. Don't know how many of you already know of that one, but it works pretty well.
