Mac Emulators

Where can I find the Macintosh Emulator needed to play Escape Velocity?

I don't know, but I would like to say that, given the enormous amount of questions ever asked about EV emulation on a PC, someone with a PC should make an intensive and whole study of Mac emulators that are capable of playing EV, and how, and put it in the EV FAQ, so that all these questions may be answered once and for all.

OK, here is what I posted on a similar topic on the EVO board:

**This site gives instructions on using EV with Executor (it also has instructions on using EVO with Executor on the same site).

This site gives you step by step instructions in setting up Basilisk with System 7.5.3

This site has general information on different mac emulators. It also allows you to download System 7.6.1 and a Quadra ROM (although you should only download the ROM if you own a Quadra or similar mac).

Of course the best option is just to buy a Mac 🙂

I use Basilisk II and I think it's the best...Executor is incredibly slow and you can't run it in full screen unless your in 640x480 ( windows version ) or use the clunky DOS version. Of course, I can't get Fusion to work and that may be better, but I doubt it. One thing to note:

On my K-6 500 / 128 mb of RAM / TNT2 M64 Pro PCI video card, EVO simply cannot run. It's much too slow. My computer sure isn't top of the line anymore ( wasn't ever , really ) , but I think anything below 500 mhz just isn't going to cut it with EVO. I could be wrong, or it could be something just peculiar to my setup.

That brings me to another issue, some large ships in EVO are distorted on some angles on my setup...probably the video card but possibly the emulator too.

I used to run EVO perfectly using fusion on my Amiga 1200. The only upgrade I had for that machine was a 50Mhz 68060 processor card with an extra 24Mb of ram 😄

Sorry, this is a forum for discussing EV, not Windows software.
