As some of you may know, I've been working on founding a building a website devoted to the new Corsair Development team. As of now, I just got the website on the web, and the there are only a few links currently working. (The "Escape Velocity" link is fully functional) I put about two to six hours into the website every day, so keep checking it out for updates. The Corsair Developers will be a group of graphics creators and developers who make plugins for all the Escape Velocity games, and currently our flagship product will be the upcoming total conversion: "The Dreden War." We are as of now looking for developers to join us, and in order to do so we request a plugin or graphic created by you along with a description of the attachment. (Carno, I heard you were interested...I won't need a graphic or plugin from you since I've seen your work.) Diddlysquat is a member and current head of the plugin development department, while I head up the graphics department. Please visit our site, give us feedback: What does it need? What does it NOT need? And if you're interested in joining the team, please contact me as sirpatrick@tmgmedia.net. Thanks!
The Corsair Development team homepage: (url="http://"http://artworks.tmgmedia.net")http://artworks.tmgmedia.net(/url) Who to contact: Joseph Payne: sirpatrick@tmgmedia.net
The new Corsair Development team: Devoted to bringing you the best plugins for the Escape Velocity games. (url="http://"http://artworks.tmgmedia.net")http://artworks.tmgmedia.net(/url)
Common...I need some feedback here.
I'm still looking for graphics and programming developers, so if you're interested in participating in "The Dreden War," you've found the right place.

Blue writting? Well, I did experiment with using green writting on the website to match the Escape Velocity logo, and take my word for it: It looked terrible! (Green did match the logo, but went against every other graphic on the website) Yes, all the graphics are suppost to be left justified and rather thin, primarilly so people with small moniters can view it. And yes again, the outer side is suppost to be blank. (white) Do you think it should have some kind of star background? If I did put in a starfield in the background however, the page would take about twice as long to load...Thanks for your advice!
Cool, crisp graphics, Skyblade. (And as one with a smaller monitor, thanks for left-justifying.)
Question about the story:
The Dreden now control a large number of colonies scattered across newly discovered planets, which everyday pose a deadlier threat to the Empire.
Do we know yet WHY the Dreden development constitutes a "deadly" threat the Empire? Seems to me the Dredens were minding their own business. Or...
Could the Dredens have unwittingly begun their colony in what the Empire considers "their territory"...? Hmmm...

Well, Nova is comming out soon. You guys should just finish whatever EVO stuff you are working on, and then home your skills until Nova comes out. Then you'll be ready to produce some owning stuff.
I'm glad to see that groups are starting to form again, we'll need them for Nova.

Yes, that is one of our worries...Getting this released before Nova comes out. If you've noticed, we are no longer using the original weapon and outfit graphics for "The Dreden War," since they looked very terrible on 8 bit color. We plan on re-releasing "The Dreden War" as a Gold edition for Nova, and in this Gold edition, we plan to import the newer graphics. Sound alright to you? As for the Override edition of "The Dreden War," we will use use the graphics from Override and Escape Velocity (which you will see in the "weapons and outfits" topic on the website)

Maybe I need to clarify a few parts of the story. Ever since the Battle of Dreden, the Dreden people have been in a all-out war with Imperial forces. Fortunately, the Dreden have far more advanced technology then the Empire, thus making well equipt ships superior to numbers. SInce the Dreden are now at war and control a number of planets, they really do pose a deadly threat to the Empire, since they and the Kelanders are united under an alliance, and together have the power to destroy the Empire. The Dreden were originally minding their own business, but that doesn't mean they ignore the fact that they could be totally destroyed.
The Empire are a conquering race, much like the Voinians in Override. They care less about what stands in their way, all they care about is destroying whoever stands and fights, or even those who don't have the power to defend themselves. So technically, the Dreden WERE standing in the Empire's path, and now the Kelanders have also aroused to fight back the Imperial juggerbaught. So in a sense, maybe the Dreden DID colonize a planet that the Empire considered their territory.
Hope this all makes sense now. Glad the website size helped you out a bit.

Well there official reason is that they are in Imperial space as shown in the "Deneba Treaty of 2578".
And also, instead of just a white background, how 'bout a black one? It wouldn't take longer, and it would look better.
Also for the graphics, how about we have at least some original graphics (not based on anything, I mean).

"Deneba Treaty of 2578?" No, no...You got in all wrong. It was the Deneba Treaty of 2412.
As far as a black background, I tried it out, and it really just doesn't seem to fit. The white background seems to look better, though many people are asking for black. If I get enough demand, I'll make it black. White just seems to match the graphics better.
Original graphics? Hmmm...Could you be more precise?
revisited your site (second opinion) Nice ships (didnt get to it the first time or maybe they werent there) anyways LIKE THE CARIER very sharp!
hey nice website!! too much blue though, try using some black, red or gray to make it more attractive. and yes put some background to the left, and try putting some music to the opening page. you have awesome ship graphics!! i suggest making more outfits like projectile weapons, or something like that. you should also make a few more ships for the imperials(like fighters). you could also make some non-government ships.(check the link for the screen shots 'cos i couldn't get in there) i'd love to join you guys but sadly i dont have some program called "stuffit" and i guess you need that. you guys are doing great with the graphics and stuff.i drew some ships of a new alien race but they are on paper not my comp and i dont have any programs for drawing on this comp(i am currently in another country and we could only bring my moms comp 'cos its a laptop) if you guys would post downloadables of that sort on your site you could get more responses, and members.(if you did already i only checked your graphics) over-all i'd give your site and creativity 7 out of 10. hope yo guys make it before nova does(otherwise i dont know how many people will try your product when nova comes out(not trying to put you guys down)) good luck!!

Thanks! I don't know why, but the Dreden Carrier has gained plenty of faithful followers. For all of you Escape Velocity players, we do plan on porting "The Dreden War" for Escape Velocity once we complete the "Gold" edition for Nova.
