no matter how i try i cannot get a rating higher than good egg can some one tell me how i can improove my status with the rebels.
------------------ if it dosent doesn't squiel its not worth killing
Go to sirgil, hire 5 shuttlecraft escorts. Fly back and forth between Virgo and Sirgil, slaughtering the pirates (and confeds if you are aggressive) attracted by your shuttles. You can defray the cost of the shuttles by carrying luxuries from Virgo to Sirgil starport. Each pirate killed boosts your rating with the system you killed it in.
If you are rich, you can try this with light freighters. They attract more powerful pirates which provide a larger boost to your rating.
Do the above until you are an "upstanding citizen" (the next rank after good egg) in sirgil. Then get and complete the alien missions-- they provide a large boost to rating. You should be a "role model" after this.
Killing a pirate kestrel or alien fighter (only available after alien missions, and very rare) provides a large boost to your rating in all nearby systems.

hey i got pillar of society in that system below turin i have no clue how i did it though. and most of the systems that im not overlord in are role model. just shoot all of the pirates you see. and becoming overlord in a pirate system also boosts your rating
The only problem with killing stray alien fighters after the alien set missions is that they raise your rating too much in independent systems. After killing a few in a certain area, your rating goes higher than the game can handle, and the number wraps around to the corresponding negative value, making you seem like quite a nasty person...
------------------ If I write a letter to be put in a time capsule to be opened when time travel is possible, and if in my letter I ask for some item to be sent back in time to the point I sealed my time capsule, wouldn't that item appear just as I seal the capsule? Just a thought...

Oh, I always wondered why I occasionally become a public enemy in some random planet where I previously had a high rating. Although, the highest I have had in standard ev is Pillar of Society.
