Due to the apparent success of surveying posts, I´ve decided to post this other one. Here choose between Kestrel, Frigate, Destoyer, or any ships from any(well known)plug in that fits in the description Light Capital Combat Starships.

Well, Kestrel is probably the best ship in original EV. As for the plug-in ships, I personally like the one (forgot it's name) from Quantumire Trilogyyellow one with organic hull. Quantumire ships in general are probably the best among the other plugs ships. David, thanks for are great plug. Haven't heard from you for a long time.

The Kestrel is the best civilian light capital ship from the original EV (its the only civilian ship even close to warship class). The best light capital ship from the original game, however, is the Confederate Frigate because of its strong defense and its equivelant firepower to a Destroyer which allows it to toast the Destroyer in most one-on-one conflicts. The Destroyer, however, is a close second in the military light capital ship department...

** dude, you have got something wrong here. That guy bozorg specified light ships, not cruisers. Unless you are new to escape velocity, i would suggest you learn some things about ships classification.
My favourite ship is either Kestrel or frigate.
Plugin ship would be Foundation bucaneer
Cotton Mouse, I know you are stuck on the Rebel Cruiser, but ElRojo is right, this is specifically LIGHT capital ships. Besides, one needs to provide reasons for their opinion. Two words doesn't cut it. Even if the Rebel Cruiser were included, the Alien Cruiser, Alien Fighter and Confed Cruiser can all toast it. Anyway, I reaffirm my previous position that the Kestrel is the best civilian capital ship (because its the only one) and the Confederate Frigate is the best light capital ship overall because of its superior defensive capabilities I have previously stated in my first post on this topic (see above).
If you're talking about ships you fly yourself, it's definitely the Rebel Destroyer. Outfit it with: 4 Proton Turrets 4 Proton Cannons 2 Javelin Pods RCS/Engine/Speed Upgrades then you've got a ship that is fast and maneuverable, and devastating at close range.
The Corvette sucks. A properly outfitted Argosy can beat these any day.

The rebel cruiser can be classafied as a light capital ship, the confed cruiser which has almost 2X the sheilds is a Heavy Cruiser, so one with half should be classefied as light.
A New Horizons Rebel Destroyer. 3 energy lances, 1 atomic blaser turrent, 2 particle beams, and it is like invisible!

The Rebel Destroyer.

The Guard-Kestrel from Pale. It's not cheap, but 4 Lightnings, fighter-grade manuverability, and powerful shields do come at a price. Besides, it just looks great. You gotta love Matt Dailey's graphics.

Well well, what do we have here now? This is no longer accidental guy. i think this is more of a way of terrorism. Each ship has a unique mass. In case you have not noticed, here are some of them:
REBEL CRUISER. 850 Tons CONFED CRUISER. 1000 Tons REBEL DESTROYER. 240 TONS(b/) KESTREL. (b)230 TONS
I hope i made my point clear.
Yes, cotton mouse, is it now obvious the Rebel Cruiser is not a light capital ship? I hope so.
For those of you telling us the Rebel Destroyer is the best light capital ship, I don't seem to understand your reasons (and you don't give many). When put in comparison to the Confed Frigate, it may seem equal, but those slight differences are win/lose in a battle situation.
Does anyone here know where I ould find out where to get this "Quantumire" plug? it's not at the archives, please give me the link, it sounds good.
I like the rebel destroyer best from EV although If some one would give it a nice paint job to make it look like a rangers strip?
From EVO I'd have to say that I prefer tha azdara best for a light warship as it has the most flexibility although the freight courier has better survival rates in my experience.
BTW, anyone fancy a pint?
