I own a confederate cruiser, and have many captured and hired escorts. I did the alien mission, and have taken over all but 6 planets. The 6 are mostly the confed. and rebel bases, and their strong alies. ( ruby, spica, centauri) What else is there to do? When I started out with this game about three years ago, my favorite pass time was to kill pirates for fun with my little corvette, and later kestrel. But now that I've become so powerful, it's getting kinda boring. If there is a crucial mission out there, let me have it. Should I work on Sol? What happens when you take over all the planets? And another thing. What other weapons can you get? I already have the particle beam. What's next?

Have you done the Rebel missions? You mentioned that you had the partical beam but you didn't mention if you'd gotten the two special items you can get from the Rebels.
And what did you mean by "screw the plug-ins I'm doing this by myself"? What are doing by yourself? Plug-ins are a good means of extending the pleasure that EV/O/N can bring to the people who play them. They are also meant to be a part of the eventual playing experience. Some plugs such as FH and FF (FF only for EVO) use the features of EV/O in different ways from what the regular game uses them for. This results in some neat missions and features.

Sorry, I just associated plug-ins with cheats. I guess it's more than that.
There are plug-ins which replace the entire EV/O galaxy with new worlds, missions, people, ships, outfits, weapons, governments, etc. It's not good that plug-ins have become known as just cheats even to one person. There are many plug-ins that are nothing but cheats but there are many good ones that offer a whole new game for the player.

I strongly reccomend New Horizons and EVGE.
