Captured Ships

A quick question to those more experienced than I. If I have captured some useless vessels, how do I get rid of them?..Or do I just have to wait for them to be destroyed?

You hold down option and target them, then hail them and say 'Release from servtitude' or something like that. Then kill them if you just captured them when their shields are low to bring up your combat rating.

In a related issue, does a plug exist which will allow you to sell captured ships? That's the whole reason I captured my first ship. Imagine my surprise when I couldn't even sell the thing! Any help?

No, you can't sell captured ships. However, "Captured" escorts have an advantage over "Hired" escorts because captured ones don't need credits.

Except captured escorts don't fight as well as paid escorts.

You sure? I thought you had to press option-c and then target your escorts.

No, just option-target the escorts. Then you hail them, and you have three options:

Greetings
Release From Servitude
Good-Bye

Three guesses as to which one you pick.

The default for hailing is "Y".
