No ship is invincible. Period. A Confed Cruiser is PRETTY DAMN CLOSE THOUGH! Too slow for our liking however. We suggest, like we have said in various other posts, our Kestrel, the DeathWatch, with 40 lightnings. Try flying a Confed Cruiser through that! Oh, btw, after taking out the patrols ships, and any other ships in the system, and launching as many lightnings as the system can handle, the fight against the Confed, even without the Kestrel joining in takes about 15 seconds.

Yeah, corvettes are the best in standard EV. In EVO I can kill anything with a pimped out crecent fighter.

Why does everyone think the the corvette is so good. once i modify my Kestrel I can take on thousands of corvettes. And if you have the forklift i don't care what you say unless your not too bright you are invincible. So i vote for the Kestrel.
I vote kestrel. It is maneuverable, has lots of weapons and weapon space, and has plenty of cargo space. Kestrel beats corvette any day (unless the corvette pilot is a smart human, not AI).

The corvette is the quickest, most maneuverable heavy fighter in the game. It has plenty of space for all the upgrades you need and enough to run missions, that's why it's so respected. The kestrel is sa good ship as well, it just isn't as quick. I prefer the corvette for the speed as well as price. Instead of spending 6 million credits to go up to a kestrel, I keep the money in the corvette which is good enough to last until I can get to the Rebel Cruiser.

My vote is corvette or Reb. Cruiser. The upgrades actually do something for the Reb. Cruiser. The confed ship is so slow that the upgrades are necessary if you want to live. I pesonally love th sorvett. The speed upgrades make it the most powerful ship while the particle beam gives it a moderate offence. I would outfit it with torps and proton cannons though. A shield enhancement too.

Defender. I can (and have, on several occasions) kill ANYTHING (except alien ships) in a defender, using just three lasers and a layer of armaplast. And it is dirt cheap, which means you can buy one early on and go hunting kestrels.
Second choice: Rebel Destroyer. The best, most balanced ship in the game. Cheap for its capability, too. Cruisers? Bah. Can't catch me, can't hit me. I outrun missiles. And any fighters just get fried.

A Kestrel is my favorite ship. (NO, Goddamnit, that's not where my name came from). The corvetter has too weak of shielding. You have to stay away and use little wussy girl missiles and torpedoes. You can't go bang it out with a cruiser and win if you have a Corvette. I drop all long-distance weapons from my Kestrel, load it up with turrets and a coupla javelin pods, get all the upgrades, mass upgrades until I have like 35 cargo left, and then go huntin'.

As much as I love the Kesterl, I'll have to go with the Confed Cruiser. I think that arguement "I can beat any ship in the game with this" really is bad. I can beat anything with a defender that has 1 cannon (except Alien Fighter), but that's not the point. I think the best arguement is just stating your opinion. I think that the confed cruiser is the best because of its amazing firepower, space, ability to launch good fighters, and ability to take a licking and keep on ticking. I can respect people who like fast fighters, because I personally find them actually safer than any slow cruiser, but I don't like them best because they take too long to kill the large, slow crusiers. Those are my 2 cents.

You couldn't possibly beat the Alien Cruiser with that Defender, either. Maybe not even the Reb Cruiser, which has the 3rd best regen, IIRC. I'd have to vote for the 'vette, it is probably the best nuetral ship for its cost. The best military ship would be the Rebel Destroyer, for its speed, agility, and power, and also for being cost effective. I don't like the cruisers that much, combat starts to get boring once you can ignore the enemies' fire :frown:
I meant I can beat anything but Aliens (both fighter and crusier) with a defender. Obviously with flares and speed, I can beat a Reb Crusier's projectiles. Taking the mantras 1 at a time is difficult, but very possible. The Cruiser can be beating with persistant attack runs, as it doesn't recharge shields that fast (not NEAR the alien's recharge). All of what i said is beyond the point My point was that saying "I can beat a Confed Crusier with..." isn't that great an argument. If you Monty Python, then I can destroy any slower ship with a defender (again, the exception in the aliens) without a touch on me. I'm not trying to inslut anyone, but I'm just saying that it isn't a verifiable arguemnt in my book. I don't wanna start any fights here!
