How do you get the confed Alien mission? I have been to Mars, like a hundred times, and I can't seem to get the mission. Please help me!

make sure you have a good combat rating and reputation on fed planets, also, which mission have you done already for the feds?

I've done the particle beam mission
I stick to the the planet you delivered the Partical beam to (can't remember the name off hand). This makes that string that much easier cause you are closer to the system you have to go to.
