Corvette's the ship I took it out with. If you do it the way I did, you could kill the cruiser with a shuttle! The cruiser can only fire forward, so slip up next to it, tractor beam it and then broadside it with your turrets (you can also turn and face the cruiser and use your forward-firing wepaons too - just make sure the cruiser is facing away from you)! However, make sure there's something to keep its fighters busy. -david-

Simple, this is how I met those aliens: I met them in a plug-in I made for EV. In it I added a bunch of persons and fleets. But, I never published it.
Why hasn't anyone voted for the Lightning? Easy to pull down big ships in that.

The ships that I find the most fun to fly, are the Rebel Destroyer, in EV (I gotta have a fast ship), the Arada in EVO, and the Bird of Prey in EVGE. The ships that I find to be the most powerful, are (I gag on the words) the Confederate Cruiser-ugh! in EV, the Igadzra in EVO, and the Alien Marauder in EVGE. Overall, I think that the Bird of Prey is the most fun to fly. The Alien Marauder is unquestionably the most powerful ship in any EV plugin
