the limit's 1604.x mil (how 1604M got chosen is beyond me. the logical limit would be about 1074M, b/c it's a power of 2, but that's neither here nor there). if you pass this, your credits will be reset to that point (and i think they go back if you spend any after surpassing the limit. it's kinda like the early games up to about nintendo which would give you infinite lives if you got more than a certain number). but yeah, the most you can get is a little over 1604M. and yes, i have gotten there legitimately (w/o the use of any plugs)

In EVGE the limit seems to be 1610.61 mil. It's fairly easy to accumulate huge amounts of credits in EVGE, by disabling Alien command ships, stealing their seeker drones and then selling them on Achenar. I can't imagine accumulating a billion credits in plain vanilla EV M

oh, maybe that's it. i haven't played the original in a while (been working on plugs), but i knew it was somewhere around there. and it's not really that hard to get there in the original b/c all the ships are fairly easy to destroy. you just dominate everything you feasibly can (i left sol, ruby, and about 3 rebel systems alone), then go kill, maim, and destroy for a while. between stolen money from pirate ships and 100k/day tribute, plus whatever missions you have left to do, you can bring in some serious cash

yeah, you can pass the sogenannt "limit," but it resets back to the limit when you jump or land
I dominated heaps of planets and then just played. I think I had something like 673 Millions after some months of intense EV playing...
