The solution; Alpha Console v.1. Its a whole new take on the EV interface.
ACv.1 is a User Interface update only. It is a precursor to a whole bunch of other plug-ins that are on their way. ACv.1 provides the bare bones for the plugs that will follow, it changes the in game console and the target graphics, all the buttons as well as the pre game options screen.

I've downloaded Alpha Consol, and it is COOL and AWESOME! The target graphics are incredible, the new title screen is ultra cool, and the new display thing is awesome!

I'll be releasing other game-play based plugins in the very near future. The first is called 'Alpha Espial', currently containes over 40 new ships, 50 outfits and new planets, stations and governemts to numerouse to count.
