How long does it take to dominate Sol?

Alright, I'm still relatively new to this game, so maybe I'm speaking prematurely, but please help me out here.

After long days spent trading and running missions for the rebels, I found myself getting bored with the whole deal. I wanted some more action (that my tight 'rush delivery' schedule would not allow). My basic problem was that I was permanently short on cash. So I decided that dominating small planets was the easiest way to generate steady income. Thus, I conquered all of the indpendent planets that have me listed as a criminal or worse (with a few exceptions like Levo) and since then have taken on the joyful mission of dominating Confed planets.

Now, I've decided to go for gold and dominate the Sol system. I'm flying a Rebel Cruiser, with a captured Confed Cruiser and six hired Kestrels. I've demanded tribute from all four landing spots in the system (Mars, Earth, Luna and Alpha Station) and have been sloughtering patrol ships, gunboats and frigates for OVER TWO DAYS (playing ~ 4 Hours a day).

My basic question is, when is it going to stop!? Taking over some other Confed planets took about 45 minutes (The ones with Frigates as planetary defense) but two days is rediculous! They just keep coming and coming and dying in my barrage of proton blasts, but the stream never stops! Will it ever stop? Or am I murdering hundreds of Confeds for no particular reason?

Thanks,
Morto

P.S.: What kind of a tribute am I going to get from this when it's all over?

As I recall, the defense fleet of each spob in the Sol system is around 32,000 frigates so you have a long job ahead of you. Don't know about the tribute, but it is based on tech level of the world, so should be high - but not high enough to make it worth the effort, IMO.

Yes, you are indeed murdering hundreds—nay, thousands—of brave Confederation sailors for no good reason. Shame.

The DefCount exactly is 32765 (for each planet). Thats 9104 Confed ships tp blast outta the system. I recommend (if you have Res-edit or...something else) change the game a little and make the DefCount lets say, -1. Or another cheap way to take over a planet is to get the max number of ships in a system (using escorts) and the planet won't have anybody to send out. Maybe a couple of ships but that is it.

Yes, that makes things so much easier for dominating. I once made a cheater plug (for EVO) with a ship that had 50 Azdaras, invincible shields, and lots of weapons. You just launch as many as you can and the system will be full so they only send one ship out. Then, you can keep them out and wherever you go no other ships can be in the system. It's easy to dominate the galaxy this way.

It took me 11 hours to dominate that system, and it wasn't really worth it because it's just regular pay.

Okay, here is what I did. I got a Rebel Cruiser with 6 Rebel Cruiser escorts. Then, I bought a Hawk Bay. I hypered into Sol and demanded tribute fron Luna. When all my Cruiser escorts had their fighters out, I put my secondary weapon on the Manta bay. I held down shift as I destroyed the first ship. Then, i demanded tribute from Son, Stardock Alpha, and Mars. They each sent out one ship and as i destroyed them, I launched my fighters. Took about 10 minutes.

To get the Cruiser escorts, buy a Cruiser. Then, attack some pirates and try to capture them. If succesful, then use the ship as your own. Then, get back to Palshief and buy a new Cruiser. Repeat as many times as you want.

Here is a trick i learned. Demand tribune, leave the system, come back and demand tribune. It seems to work 4 me- but im crazy, try it if ya wanna.

I have conquered the solar system in about 1-2 minutes. I had captured a rebel crusier and used it to disable and take the mantas of escort carriers i had 34 mantas but could only launch 33. anyway they could only launch one ship which made conquering the sol system very easy
