Hey all...just want to remind you of the Ferazel addon page.. (url="http://"http://www.ambrosiaSW.com/games/ferazel/addons.html")http://www.ambrosiaS...zel/addons.html(/url)
Go there to find new addons..including a couple of new levels that have just been released in the last day or so. Also be sure to upload any new level that you might have that we can all try it out. Just click on the 'submit a file' link at the bottom of the page. Your file will be added to the page as soon as a moderator moves it there. That might happen right a way or it might take a few hours. Spamguy and I both check the boards a few times a day. If for some reason you don't see it added to the page within a day or so, drop one of us a mail.
As Monsterlady says...happy ferazeling!

You mean, you'll put down your rock and I'll put down my sword and we'll try and kill each other like civilized people?

I'm going to wait until I have 6-7 levels.

I intend to post on the add-on page when I have completed level three, or more, depending on how I am feeling.

You know you guys..we can always delete your old file when you want to replace it with an updated one.
While I really enjoy the enthusiasm everyone has here, programmers invented beta testing for a reason. Do you really want your alpha and pre-alpha levels floating around for the general public to use? My concerns about doing this are:
Those who play your levels now, incomplete, may make hasty decisions about the quality of your work, and never even bother to try your final, finished product. I know that I myself have reacted in this way to several EVO plug-ins which eventually underwent numerous revisions, and may eventually have become good plugs. But when I played their early "public" releases, the bugs and incompleteness totally turned me off from future works by their authors.
Do you want to give away your plotline now, step-by-step, or would you rather that the player experience it all at once? By not releasing incomplete versions, you make the complete experience fresh and unknown for the user. If you release a few levels at a time, however, by the time your final version is released, the user has played 90% of your levels and knows 95% of the plotline, and may not find it worth the bother to play the last few levels just to find out "just how this author has used Xichra".
Just my $.02.

PS: We all know the real reason I'm posting this, of course -- to keep you people from destroying my free time with all of these new levels!

Your points are very valid if people are producing these levels for money. Most people on this board won't bother to recruit beta testers but will instead rely on other people who frequent these boards. We can be a great source of feedback. I think something can be said for both approaches.
I don't thnk there is a whole lot of beta-testing needed in making this levels. You test and test and test and test on your computer, until you ubtain perfection Then you post it, for the world to enjoy. I don't think anyone is going to post a half finished level. Honestly, I wouldn't want to play one. I do agree, however, that this board is a great place get feedback, after all, I don't think anyone is making these levels for money. We are making these for others and our own overwhelming self-satisfaction. I will post mine after the third level meets my high standards. I am still trying to fix the Conversations and perm flags. Unfortunately, I have found that I do have other things which need to be done. I don't expect to be able continue working until after next weekend. Then I will post a my level on the add-on page and my world's website: (url="http://"http://www.geocities.com/emu_developers/ferazel.html")Extemperaneous(/url)

My plan is to get my foot on the boat with 3 levels and then update everytime I complete 10 levels. After 20 or so I'll go onto my next world...or burn out... which every happens first.
Your concerns have a good point. The way I have it set up is that I only update very irregullarly so people will get a lot of new levels with each upgrade. People also don't want to play rough levels. I'll be able to catch many of the glitches in the level, but I'll want to get feedback from the board before I post my finished levels. And if people don't want to download the level, it doesn't bother me too much. I had fun making it. Some people will download it. Plus, I believe there is a little more competition over at the EVO add-ons page then the Ferazel add-ons page.

Hey! Who gave my world a title of "AndrewsWorld010"?! It should be something like "Andrew's World 0.1"
Can an admin please change it?
