Using Plugs for the PC

Okay I have a PC and am playing EV on Executor. I wanted to use some plugins, but the program reads them as text files and I can't run them. I've tried Stuffit Expander on them and it doesn't work. Do plugs just not work on emulators, or am I doing something wrong here?

I'm sorry I don't have any answers for you, but I've got some questions to add to the list... I'm using executor to run EV as well. My question is concerning the escorts I have. I want to get rid of them. I read a post a while ago where someone said to hit "option" and cycle through the escorts and dismiss them... Well I don't see an "option" command anywhere in the preferences listing of commands. And there isn't any on my keyboard either. Is this a Mac thing that can't be done on my PC? Also, is there any emulators out there that are free that I could play EV on? I'm willing to pay for EV, but I can't dish out the $150+- to buy executor... Its a good game, but not THAT good.

And oh, what is the first system (thus, the easiest) to demand tribute from? I've got a pretty nicely equiped corvette, so I'm wondering if its still too early to start demanding things from an entire planet... thanks for your help.

Those questions I can answer.

The option key in Executor is the right-Alt. (The problem is, when you try to select escorts in full screen mode, you hit right-Alt+Tab, which is an Alt-Tab in Windows. The application will minimize, and you're back at the home screen. Luckily you can click the EV thing on the taskbar and it'll come back. A bit annoying if you ask me.) (edit) The command key is the Left-Alt, for jettisoning cargo and such.

For the demanding tribute thing, remember you have to have at least a Deadly combat rating. I would say that you should conquer some Defender systems like Levo, Kathoon, Propus, Manos, and Jadzia to name a few. Those that I mentioned plus a few others are independent planets. Beware, some independents like Nexus and Deneb send out Rapiers instead of Defenders, comparatively harder opponents.

What I did, is after the 30-day demo, I deleted the demo and downloaded another copy. Sure it takes a while, 2.6 megs or something, but I think it's worth your while. And you get it for another 30 days.

Hope this helps. And somebody answer my question!

smashman: easy, download em to the root directory of a hard drive. now start executor. now drag N drop the dile out of that hardrive to the EV disk image. open stuffit and let it do its thang. put the plug and whatever it says in the readme in the plugs folder. open ev, start new pilot, have fun.
