I just had a great (in my opinion) idea for a plug-in. It would be set durring the Great War, with the Confederation fighting the Aliens. There are several plug-ins like this already, but this one would let you start out as either a confed or an alien, using 2 differnt data files. If you put the first data file in, you would start as a Confed, if you put the second one in, you would start as an alien. But the question is, would you the EV community want such a plug? I've finished 1/4 of the Cobalt Project already, but I'd be willing to put that off indefinately to work on this idea.
Of course I'd need graphic people to make some more alien ships and alien planets and some "relief" mission writers...

Sound like a neat idea, similar ones have been tossed around for EVO regarding the Strands or the UE/Voinians. I don't know if it would be worth putting Cobalt (no idea what that is) on the back burner though.
------------------ One cannot walk down an avenue, converse with a friend, enter a building, browse beneath the sandstone arches of old towns without meeting with an instrument of time.
Time is visible in all places.
Clock towers, wristwatches, church bells divide years into months, months into days, days into hours, hours into seconds, each increment of time marching after the other in perfect succession. And beyond any particular clock, a vast scaffold of time, stretching across the universe, lays down the law of time equally for all.
In this world, a second is a second is a second.
Time moves forward with unwavering regularity.
Time is an infinite ruler.
Time is absolute.

That ship is just a little familiar I see you partake of Matt Dailey's graphics generosity as well.
Your idea isn't bad; I could think of more sophisticated ways to implement it, though. In a plugin idea I once was considering (now in cold storage because of Project Nebula), I had a really sophisticated pirate/organized crime string

I have a small idea. when you drop gravetic bombs they should go through asteroids and if you fire at them they should detonate. -mista mx

Can't be done without the source code. Sorry.

Oops. A pretty good idea, though I can't exactly figure out how one would exactly do alien missions
This sounds like my idea.
Mine was just to make a plug where you were an alien fighter pilot. You don't have to pay for ships or weapons, but you can only get access to them via different missions. Basically all you have to do is destroy the humans.
So...if you end up putting your other plug on hold and starting this one, please allow me to help with the alien data file. I'll do all the missions if you want.

It would be interesting to see the Great War through the eyes of the aliens. Maybe the only reason they attacked was that their worlds were out of resourses or overpopulated and they needed a new place to live. Maybe they were peaceful at first, but then human ships attacked and they retaliated. Of course this fact was later covered up by the Confederation...
Of course, if you are playing as an alien you wouldn't refer to yourself as alien. To you the humans would be "aliens" To an alien the Confederate Crusier is an "alien" crusier. I think seeing the great war from their point of view would be very, very interesting...
I would really like to take part in this Alien Plug, OctoberFost. I will put my ideas for it on your site.
