Another plug-in problem

I'm trying to create a plug in of my own (A "Destroyer" fighter bay, and obviously Destroyers to go with it), and have encountered a slight problem. (Using EV-Edit) I created Outfit resources for the bay and fighters, a ship resource, and a Weapon resource, and linked them all together. I test the thing, and I can buy the stuff, but it doesn't even show up on my weapons list!!! I'v enoticed no difference between my plug and other fighter bay plugs (with ResEdit). I've deleted and started from scratch 3 times, and the same thing happens! WHAT AM I MISSING?!?!?!?!?!

Hmm let's see.

To make a fighter bay, you need:

  • weap resource for the fighter bay.

  • outf resources for the fighter and the bay.

  • STR resources for the name.

Download Pontus Ilbring's EV Formula Calc and check your ID numbers - and make sure you filled in all STR resources. Beyond that, try increasing the memory for EV and/or contacting Ambrosia.

Welcome to the world of plug-in creation! Now you are really hooked. Whatever you do, don't delete all your work again! It is usually just a missing aspect, such as the aforementioned STR resources. It is also a good idea to title your weapons and outfits (in the 'get resource info' fields) exactly as you have named them in your STR resources: it is more organized. This becomes more important if EV is searching for a title and not a STR (weapons that come with a ship). Have fun.

Thanks for the tips, but this is my first actual plug (I've created one already that improves the availability, safety, and payment of the "Black Market Wood" mission), and I'm no hacker. I may end up sending the stats to someone else to do the plug.

Speaking of plug-ins, I recently downloaded one called "Space Rocks", which changes the planet, station, and asteroid images. It is a very good plug, but sometimes, in places with a lot of asteroids, the rocks leave streaks going across the screen, which don't disappear until I land. Is anyone else experiencing this problem, or do I have some other plugs conflicting with it?

It's a bug in the graphics, they're not at a frame size that's a multiple of 8 (i.e. 32x32, 64x64, etc.)

Well, that's nice, but how do I fix the problem?

You can't.

Gee, thanks for the help...
If I just delete the asteroid images, then will the planet images still work? Or will that entirely mess things up?

If you haven't, please read my post "An accurate Star Wars plug".

Speaking of which, I'v efound several Death Star plugs, but all of them I've seen are, well, really bad. Anyone know of some good ones?

It won't do any harm.
