Anyone know where you can get Star Wars 2 for EV?

Does stardock whatever have Star Wars 2 for EV or EVO? The reason I ask is that my Override game stuffed up and I still had the SW2 plug, so I converted it into EV plug format. Some of the features are stuffed, but it works.
Anyway, Ace, if you meant SW2 for EV classic, and stardock only has it for override, then I have it for classic. (I hope that's not illegal. I doubt it since EV and EVO were made by ambrosia.) Unfortunately I don't have net access on my Mac at home, so this message really was useless. Sorry. :frown:

Maybe I should call.
Illegal? Why?
SW2 is an awful plugin - programming-wise. The graphics are eye-popping. You'll being cursing this plugin pretty soon. It also mauls the Star Wars story pretty badly. Try (url="http://"http://coldblood.cjb.net")Cold Blood(/url), coming soon.

I thought SW 2 was a ev plug. then someone converted it to EVO. that version has bugs so i was wondering where the SW2 for ev is?

I am trying at the moment to remedy this situation by completely overhauling SW2 and SW3 and converting them to EVO (effectively) with the hope of creating a Playable consistant Star wars Plugin whilst retaining the amazing graphics of SW2. It is currently about 50% finished and includes new ships, missions systems and a refined combat system any comments or suggestions would be helpful

I've got a few suggestions.
First, use replacement Data, Graphics, Sounds, Titles, and Music files. This will save on RAM quite a lot.
Second, In Star Wars 2, the scaling of the ships was all messed up (Firespray bigger than a bulk freighter for example) I've been working on a replacement graphics file that deals with this, but I'll probably just keep it to myself.
Third, on the way battles play out, I noticed several problems, too many fighters, but the fighters were not effective (Underpowered primary weaponry) So things tended to get very slow. Also, the way the weapons worked, it was too easy to survive, no challenge at all. The primary weaponry was far too underpowered. Comparing that to the movie, it is very off. Star Wars weapons seem to do considerable damage (A few hits from a fighter and most ships were in serious trouble) Figure 20/20 for regular lasers would be about right, and perhaps higher for lasers on the various imperial fighters (To counteract the lack of shielding)
Fourth, one of the most annoying things was how it wasn't possible to tell the difference between regular laser turrets and turbolasers, not through graphics, or sound. Or how the ion weaponry on large capital ships had the same power as the ones on the heavy fighters. One possible workaround for that might be the way Pale redid Neutron cannons, large, heavy damage, but fewer of them, and make them swivel mounted, or regular cannons. Then a small version for smaller, fighter type ships.
As for the fighters, maybe limit the amount of fighters held to between 2-6 for each type, 6 for TIE Fighters and A-Wings, and 2 for B-Wings/Y-Wings, TIE Bombers, 4 for the X-Wings, and TIE Interceptors. Also for the newer fighters, 2 would be the limit (E-Wings, TIE Advanced, TIE Defender)
That's about all I have at the moment, maybe I'll come up with more later.
Thanks for the response your right RAM is definately a problem At the moment my Working plug is about 10MB and thats without any mission data or new landing picts. Soit seems replacement of resources is definately the way to go. The scaling was definately a problem I think kris Hauser rendered them with showing off his graphics skills in mind rather than any attempt at realism. Scaling them will definately be a consideration but I'm not sure to what extent I should do this. As everything is dramatically out of scale Tie Fighters would have to be tiny unless I were to increase the size of the capital ships(probably not a good idea). I am planning to dramatically reduce the number of fighters. maybe slightly more than your reccomendations. As I still want the feel of hourdes of fighters inside ships probably about 8-10 per ship for TIE's. I have done quite a lot to attempt to recreate the combat of the films which includes making it a lot quicker and more deadly. A slight problem as I dont want to make it to difficult for those playing on hard mode. I have however dramatically increased the power of foreward firing lasers I have also adjusted the power of guided weapons to even the balance between rebel and Imperial. And made the torpedos more powerful but unguided(i,m not sure about this what do you think??) A swivelling Ion turret??mmmm?-sounds good. It seems you've had many of the same querys as me.If your interested in joining the development team for this plug then mail me...We have a plan for missions that can allow for all elements of the star wars saga using seperate mission plugs that contain data specific to the plot line/era this also allows for almost infinite further development. Any more suggestions anyone???
Go to <link>http://www.stardock.simplenet.com/ev/sw3/index.html</link> to find: Star Wars 2.0.5 for EV Star Wars 2 for EV Star Wars 2.0 updater for EV? Star Wars 2 for EVO Star Wars 3 for EV (unfisnished)
How's that?
