Animated Ships

I was playing the star wars plug in the other day, and i noticed that the AT-AT doesn't move its legs when going forward. Ignore the fact that it's in space, and you can't walk in space, and you're left to wonder how does it move?

Anyway, I was wondering if anybody wanted to see something like that incorporated into EV, like engines burning or afterburners, well, burning. I suppose you'd need heaps more sprites, but I'd still like to see it. Does anybody else?

P.S. Don't tell me I need to get a life. I know.

------------------

You need to get a life. 🙂 Seriously, those features would take up loads more memory then the current features already do, and it would make plugs twice as hard to make than they already do, and make plugs like New Horizons 40 MB instead of 20.

Yeah, that's what I thought. I wouldn't want to be the one that had to that.

I think that that's a cool idea, but like Andrew M said, that's a major renovation of EV. Mabye put into a new game?

What do you mean, I've got to get a life?

For Galactic Scourge II (under construction), we have some "low tech" ships without artificial gravity. This is implied by having components of the ships spin as the ship rotates. Also in Galactic Scourge (I) the NASA Alien Exterminator (cf. (url="http://"http://www.geocities.com/TimesSquare/Ring/6416/xeno.jpg")http://www.geocities...g/6416/xeno.jpg(/url) for a high res version) contains a rotating cylinder power coupling (blue/green) and the beam initiator (red as pictured) changes colors as you rotate.

Thanks. More high res images from Galactic Scourge can be found at (url="http://"http://www.geocities.com/ev_scourge/eyecandy.html")http://www.geocities...e/eyecandy.html(/url)

Specular Infini-D 3.0.1 (with lens flare from Adobe Photoshop 4). In the next hour or so, I'll have animated gifs for the ships competed for Galactic Scourge II: The Resurrection up at (url="http://"http://www.geocities.com/ev_scourge/gs2.html")http://www.geocities...courge/gs2.html(/url) some of these ships are animated.

Thanks. Also, the animated gifs are up. (Only the ships without artificial gravity and missiles rotate while spinning.) Take a look and tell me what you think.

I know the graphic you're referring to, and it is not animated. The legs move as the ship turns, i.e. at 10 degrees the front leg will be halfway in the air, at 20 degrees on the "ground" etc. It's just a neat graphic trick using the ship rotate graphics.

I already knew that, but thanx anyway. Still it's not what i meant. I never actually had any intention of anybody doing that, I just wanted to know who else thought like me. Obviously not many. :frown:

As for u, Kryptauros, what's your problem?

Maybe I should call.

That was not my intent. Actually I have never played it. Isn't that a ramscoop on the front of the Ares, my ship has a deflector shield for hyper-light travel. BTW, I have updated the page with more images. It is best to start from (url="http://"http://www.geocities.com/TimesSquare/Ring/6416/attractions.html")http://www.geocities...ttractions.html(/url)
