I much prefer looks. Some times after I've beaten a plug, I look through all the sprites and pick what graphic I like best, then change it to my liking. The looks matter to me that much...
Well, usually powerfull ships in almost all plug-ins have cool looks, aren't they?

My opinion is, i like the fed´s cruiser, it looks like a mutant sausage. But it is the best goddamn ship. As someone said, just get the particle beam, a ramscoop, some fuel tanks, more trpedoes, engine upgrades, no N. blsters, and you will have an unbeatable(maybe)machine.
I prefer the Confed Cruiser becuase it is the best ship in the game (barring the Alien ships). It looks pretty good, but so does the Rebel Cruiser. Its stylish. However, neither of them can compare to the UE Cruiser from EVO which has looks and power.

Uh-oh, first it was just Confeds vs. Rebels, but now that you said that it's gonna be Confeds vs. Rebels vs. Voinians vs. UE vs. Emalphia vs. Miranu vs. Human Renegades vs. Crescent Renegades vs. Zidigar vs. Igadzra vs. Adzgari. Well Ok. I guess the Emalphia can pretty much be left out. :rolleyes:
Back on topic: Well, I guess functionality comes first, but if two had about the same functionality, I'd defiantely go for the cooler looking one.

Perfomance is more important than appearance. It's not even a contest. If a ship looks good, that's a bonus, but how it performs is the only thing that really matters.
I think that looks are importaint, but not as importaint as power. Then again, even the shuttlecraft looks cool

The shuttlecraft does have simplistic archtecture, but in its simplisity, it looks cool. It is streamlined with cold, clean edges. It is underappreciated because of its weak combat and hauling abilities.
The coolest ship picture is teh rebel cruyiser chipyard pict, and the only one in evo is the carrier in shipyard pict, which top-view looks like sh#t.
Someone should make a plug that replaces all the EVO graphics with cool 3D graphics. What do you think?

I agree. I wish the UE carrier would be in 3-d. It looks like crap as is from the top... Huh? Whats that lassie? Oh. My brother says "the graphics don't matter much unless they're really bad. It's the missions that make a plug good. They need to enable new ships or weapons while they're still helpfull to pilot, not after the pilot has the most powerful ship in the game. Oreste for EV is a good example"

Yes, you COULD just play marathon ° instead, that would be a good idea.
The UE Cruiser in EVO looks good and has good preformance. As for EV, I prefer the Rebel Cruiser, it looks much better than the bulky Confed Cruiser. Also, the looks of the Rebel Cruiser also improve preformance. Going head on with the Confed Cruiser, it has a slimmer profile, making it harder to hit. So, looks can sometimes also improve a ship.

Heh... I do sometimes, actually, Marathon Infinity is such a great game... but still, Q3 and Unreal look sooo much better...
