Newbie help

Am I doing something wrong?

Hi Everybody, just discovered this game and am really looking forward to spending more time with it.

I successfully completed the tutorial mission, but when I tried my first real mission I had a really hard time outlasting the trace.

For me to break the admin password, copy the file and delete the logs I had to connect through over 20 servers so that my trace would last long enough.

Am I doing something wrong, or is that the strategy?

I normally route through ~80 servers, so I'd say you're along the right lines.
